This week we had a great time attending the “You’re Kidding Me” Expo, connecting with other services and sharing information about the support we offer.

It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, have meaningful conversations, and strengthen partnerships with other organisations.

Alongside these events, our team has continued supporting clients every day walking alongside people in their journeys, offering support, advocacy, and care.
Thank you to everyone we connected with throughout May. 💛 We’re looking forward to what the next month brings.

🌿 What We’ve Been Up To in May 🌿

May has been a meaningful and busy month for our team, and we wanted to share a little of what we’ve been up to in the community.

Earlier in the month, we were honoured to take part in the Reconciliation Walk. It was a powerful opportunity to come together, reflect, and show our ongoing commitment to reconciliation, respect, and standing alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We’re grateful to have been part of such an important event.

Last week, our team took time to acknowledge Domestic Violence Remembrance Day.

A day to remember the lives lost to domestic and family violence and to reflect on the impact it continues to have on individuals, children, and families in our community.

We honour those who are no longer with us and stand in solidarity with all survivors. At the same time, we recognise the strength, courage, and resilience it takes to seek safety, support, and change.
Domestic and family violence is never acceptable.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported in their home and relationships.

If you or someone you know needs support, please know that help is available. Our service is here to listen, support, and walk alongside families on their journey to safety and stability.

🖤 You are not alone.

💜 Community Shout Out! 💜

We would love to give a huge shout out to Allira House Op Shop 👏

📍 6/44–46 Medcalf St, Warner’s Bay

Did you know that when you shop there, you’re doing so much more than picking up a bargain? Every purchase helps fund Allira House Refuge, supporting women and children who are leaving domestic and family violence relationships.

Our staff were lucky enough to visit and buy some goodies at their opening a few weeks ago and we can confirm it’s definitely worth the trip! 🛍️✨

Let’s continue to support services that create safety, strength and new beginnings 💜

Getting back into school mode doesn't have to be stressful. Small routines can make a big difference!

🌜The night before
*Pack school bags together
*Have uniforms and shoes ready
*Check lunch boxes and drink bottles

☀️The Morning Routine
*Wake up at the same time each day
*Eat a simple breakfast
*Leave the house at a regular time

📚After School
*Have a snack and some downtime
*Chat about the day (no pressure!)
*Set a short, regular homework or reading time

😴Evening wind down
*Limit screens before bed
*Bath, book, bed! Make sure it's the same order each night
*Aim for a consistent bedtime

💛Remember: routines don't need to be perfect- just predictable. Start small and build as you go.
