This National Reconciliation Week, we acknowledge and celebrate the enduring connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have with Country.

Apace WA is situated at Walyalup (North Fremantle) on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja alongside the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River).

We acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the traditional owners and custodians of these lands and waterways and pay our respect to the Elders, past and present.

We are thankful to the Whadjuk community and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who share their knowledge and wisdom in caring for Country.

This week, and every week, we reflect on how we can support reconciliation through listening, learning, and fostering a deeper connection to the land we all share.

Thank you residents of Nedlands! Your allocation of subsidised native plants has sold out in the month of May!

Happy planting in the rain 🌱 🌧️

We still have subsidised seedlings left for the councils of Claremont, Cockburn, Cottesloe, East Fremantle, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove and Subiaco.

🌿🌏 World Biodiversity Day – Acting locally for global impact 💚

At APACE, we propagate and grow native species endemic to the Perth Swan Coastal Plain and Darling Scarp – part of the South West of WA, internationally recognised as one of only 35 biodiversity hotspots in the world!

This World Biodiversity Day, you can make a direct impact with a tax-deductible donation to support our nursery and conservation work.

Your contribution will help us propagate unique local species such as Acacia splendens and Eremophila subteretifolia, ensuring these beautiful plants continue to grow for future generations.

Here’s how your support helps:

🌱 $50 — supports propagation of a threatened species
🌾 $100 — contributes to native seed collection
💧 $200 — helps upgrade our nursery reticulation system

A huge thank you to and for so generously sharing your knowledge, passion and practical tips to protect Carnaby’s.

Now is the perfect time to plant Banksias, Hakeas and Grevilleas, and help turn our neighbourhoods into black cockatoo-friendly habitats 🌱✨
