Please join us at our new Seagrass Nursery, this Sunday, for a Busy Bee and Chapter Meeting.
The details are as follows:
1pm: Busy Bee
2.45pm: Sausage Sizzle
3pm: Chapter Meeting
Location: Point Peron, at the back of Fairbridge Campground (accessible via carpark East) Look for our OzFish signs.
For the Busy Bee, please ensure that you are wearing CLOSED shoes, as we have had some snakey sightings recently.

Nothing will stop our WA OzFish Unlimited volunteers from lending a hand on a Sunday morning to help clean up our favourite diving and fishing location. Not even the rain!
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Great Spring Clean and Big Butt Hunt.
A big congratulations to Natali and Lepshokov for collecting the biggest haul of rubbish, and congratulations to Aja for taking home the prestigious Golden Glove Award. We collected 521 Big Butts!

The water may still be a little chilly in Cockburn Sound but it didn't stop the team from making the most of the conditions this week to get the ROV back in the water to check our existing sites and start scouting out some new ones for 2026. Photo is from our 2025 site just south of the grain terminal in Rockingham showing some healthy looking 10 month old Posidonia australis.

This week, we attended the State Environmental (Cockburn Sound) Policy Review stakeholder workshop, where representatives from across the community and industry came together to share their perspectives, concerns and ideas about the policy review and the future health of the sound.
A special thank you to our wonderful OzFish Unlimited volunteer Janine, for her commitment and advocacy for the future sustainability of Cockburn Sound. It is great to see our volunteers contributing their voices to help protect our precious marine environments.

This month we gave a couple of the Seeds for Snapper seeding sites in Cockburn Sound a quick check with the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). A handy tool we can deploy quickly for monitoring work and more, provided as part of our community partnership with Water Corporation. Young plants look like they are thriving🌱
