Another fabulous club meeting last night!

We started by inducting our 9th member for the year. Please welcome Mac Barrot to our Rotary family! 🥳

We followed this with Lyn Beckwith giving all members an overview of last weekends successful Debutante Ball, then, we heard from Clare Fitzmaurice on her life, career and decision to enter State politics.

All of this whilst enjoying a meal at the Paradise Hotel.

If you want to join us in lively discussions, helping out our local community or assisting global projects, we’d love to hear from you.

We meet every Tuesday night from 6:45pm, so come along. All are welcome. 😊

Last Saturday night, we celebrated our 36th annual Debutante Ball. 👏

The evening is a special celebration of tradition, community, and the remarkable young people that make our community so special. For our 27 debutantes and their partners, the evening marks an important milestone—one that reflects not only elegance and grace, but also the support, encouragement, and guidance they have received from their families, schools, and the wider community.

We were honoured to be joined in the celebrations by the Mayor of Cardinia Shire Council, Councillor Brett Owen, and we thank him for his continued support of this important community event.

I would also like to acknowledge two valued representatives from Emerald Secondary College, Assistant Principal Melissa Findley and Year 11 Learning & Engagement Leader, Meredith Savage, for the role they play in helping shape and inspire our young people every day.

Events such as this do not happen without the dedication of many volunteers and supporters, and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed their time, effort, and enthusiasm to make the night such a success; especially our organising committee of Lyn Beckwith, Shalini Penny, Gayle Barrot, Linda Cullel, Rowan French and our MC, John Henderson.

After a short rest, we will all be looking forward to doing it again in 2027!

🤘 Our Rotary Revealed night was amazing!🤘

Not only did we induct two new members, Anne & Courtney Clowes, but we also celebrated the awarding of another McLeod Murphy scholarship to Ebony Dasler. Ebony is studying for a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours).

This scholarship is named to honor Dr. Ian Stephen MacLeod Murphy, the first local GP in the Emerald region who served the community for decades, often accepting food or waiving fees for struggling patients. The scholarship supports local school leavers and university students residing in the Dandenong Ranges who are pursuing tertiary studies in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, or other medical and allied health fields. We wish Ebony all the very best in her final year of study.

Congratulations to Anne, Courtney and Ebony for joining the Rotary family! 🎉👏

To those first time attendees who came along last Tuesday night, we’d also love to see you again. 😄

What a fantastic day at the All In The Mind Forum on Sunday 24 May! 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, volunteered and supported today’s event. It was inspiring to see such strong community collaboration between the Rotary Clubs of Emerald & District, Boronia, Belgrave and Monbulk.

Special congratulations and thanks to the organising committee for bringing together such a diverse and insightful range of speakers. The forum covered a broad range of important mental health topics and generated many thoughtful, poignant and meaningful questions from attendees throughout the day.

We would also like to sincerely thank all of the Rotary volunteers who rostered on to assist — events like this simply cannot happen without your generosity, teamwork and commitment to the community.

And of course, a very big thank you to our wonderful local sponsors for their valued support:

⭐ Vibe
⭐ Emerald Psychology
⭐ Bendigo Bank Monbulk
⭐ Keystone Counselling & Consulting
⭐ Emerald Village Pharmacy
⭐ Meridian Concept Electrical Contractors

Please support these local businesses when you can and mention your appreciation for their community involvement. 👏

If discussions or topics on the day or mentioned on the website prompt you to seek further information or support, additional resources are now available on our website:
