Dear friends,
An unimaginably tragic and dark fog has only recently lifted just enough to make this post.

I must inform our members, supporters, sponsors and friends of the passing of our CEO's, Leanne Whitehouse second and oldest son on 02/04/2026.... only 6 months after the passing of his younger brother.

There simply are no words that express our most profound condolences to Leanne on the loss of both sons 💔

We advise everyone that all weekly, live and online support services will continue to be postponed until further notice.

There simply are no words to navigate this life altering void.

We thank you for your grace, understanding and patience.

Dear Members & Supporters,

It is with the greatest sadness that I advise you all of the passing of Bob 'Cowboy' August.

Bob was a great man, husband, father, mentor and one of our original Co-Founders of Ability ID.

I am honored to have worked beside Bob, not only within Ability ID, but also on previous humanitarian works in Vanuatu where each of the Ni-Van Tribal Chiefs held you in the highest of esteem and respect.

Accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting, accept the annual report, accept the auditor’s report, accept the annual financial statements, appoint and pay an auditor and elect directors.

All members of Ability ID Association of Australia Inc. are eligible to vote via:
a) Attending the AGM 2025, or
b) Early Electronic Voting Ballet, or

Dear friends,

It is with unimaginable heart break I must inform our members, supporters, sponsors and friends of the passing of our CEO's, Leanne Whitehouse youngest son on 28/9/2025.

I know you all join me in expressing our deepest and sincerest condolences to Leanne and her eldest son.

This tragic event has brought our humble little charity crashing to its knees and grinding to a halt of inexpressible profound sadness.

We advise everyone that our weekly, live and online support services have been postponed until further notice.
Additional delays can be expected in processing VPIC Safety Program and sponsor applications.

As we begin to navigate this huge void and pick up the pieces, we thank you for your grace, understanding and patience.

2024 Reflections

As 2024 draws to a close it is time to slow down and reflect on an awesome year filled with amazing people.
The comradery, support and generosity of our community is truly inspiring and heart warming.

We have had great feedback from our members, health care providers and the general public
of the practicality and usefulness of our VPIC Safety Program - ID card and webpages.
It makes me proud that our services have been utilised to great individual benefit in real life circumstances, many instances this year.

I wish to express our combined heartfelt gratitude to The Table of Knowledge for their ongoing generous support of our small charity throughout the year.

On behalf of the Management Committee and Volunteers of Ability ID, I wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas & New Year, filled with love, good health and peace.

Empower - Educate - Acceptance

Have you ever stopped to consider the everyday challenges faced by those with a brain injury or other disabilities ?

At the heart of our mission, we strive to empower our members with tools and resources that can used in everyday life circumstances such as the Ability ID VPIC Safety Program (Vulnerable Persons Identification Card).

The Gold Coast is famous for its music & public festivals, but access may not appear to be as easy or as equal for everyone.

Recently I received a moving testimony from a member, and with their permission, I am excited to share their story with you.

To hear our member recount this episode with triumph and gratitude is an inspiring testament to the real-world effectiveness of communicating essential information quickly and effectively, turning what could have been a frustrating encounter - into a successful resolution.
Knowing that the card played a key role in ensuring they could fully enjoy their evening is so incredibly rewarding to me.

Through real experiences like this, we witness the Ability ID VPIC Safety Program's pivotal role in supporting individuals with TBI, Stroke, Autism or Dementia to navigate social situations more confidently and independently.

YAY - We Did It... with Your Help !
Our First Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser

What an amazing day !
Sunday 25th August was a monumental day for our little Brain Injury & Disability Awareness Charity as we held our very first Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser in Tweed Heads.

As a brain injury survivor, the CEO of Ability ID and the Bunnings BBQ Boss, I was under pressure from the early hours.
Only just remembering to throw the bread in the Kombi, I am grateful for the support of several 'well done BBQ masters' who knew how to get and keep the 'snags-a-sizzling' all day long.

A massive call out to our awesome team of volunteers and members who all came together for our great cause.
Jo, Liane, Rai, Shirley, Tineke and Craig ... not to mention Donny, Bill & Sean from the Table of Knowledge Board Riders Club.

Even those who couldn't join us in person found ways to contribute through generous donations.
Your contributions and efforts made our event a tremendous success.

A huge THANK YOU to Everyone.
A special Thank You to all the wonderful customers who supported us.

Together, we will continue making a positive impact in our community.
