The McPherson Honours Awards celebrates businesses and community groups that go above and beyond to help make our community stronger.

In 2026, Currumbin SLSC was recognised as a finalist in the Surf Life Saving Club of the Year and Environmental Champion categories.

Congratulations to all finalists and thank you to all of our members for your contributions that resulted in the Club being recognised and celebrated on the evening.

🏆 2026 State Endurance Championships

What a weekend for our Currumbin Vikings at the State Endurance Championships at Broadbeach.

Coming off the back of gaining his Surf Rescue Certificate just last week, Caleb Churchett put his athleticism to the test in challenging conditions, producing two fantastic results:

🥈 2nd – U14 Beach Run and
🙌 5th – U14 4km Board Paddle

An outstanding effort, Caleb 👏 Your commitment, versatility and determination continue to shine.

Our Masters legend, Ben Cox, also had a fantastic carnival, taking out 🥇 1st in both the Masters Board and Masters Swim. What a performance Ben 🔥

🏅 Congratulations to our newest Currumbin Beach Vikings Bronze Medallion Awardees!

What an awesome week of training! Our newest Bronzies have spent the past week developing and upgrading their lifesaving skills and knowledge under the expert instruction of our Club Training Officer, John Costigan.

A big thank you also to Ken Clark from Point Danger Branch for lending a hand and assisting with the training throughout the week.

Our Bronzies, many of whom have come through the Nipper ranks and into Seniors, also completed their First Aid Certificate, adding another important skill to their lifesaving toolkit. 👏

Congratulations to this fantastic group on achieving your Bronze Medallions! 🏅 Your commitment, enthusiasm and dedication are a credit to you and to the Currumbin Beach Vikings.

We can’t wait to see this awesome group out on patrol and keeping our beach safe over the Summer season! ☀️🏖️

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEWEST SRC AWARDEES! 🌊💛❤️

A huge congratulations to 10 of our U14 Vikings who have successfully completed their Surf Rescue Certificate this week.

Under the guidance of Life Member Steven “Spider” Cahill and long-time member Sean Winter, the group has spent the week developing the essential lifesaving skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for their first season on patrol.

The group was assessed by our Chief Training Officer, John Costigan, who was impressed with their efforts and confirmed they are ready to step onto the beach and commence patrols.

What a fantastic way to kick off their season!
We look forward to seeing our newest recruits proudly joining our patrol teams, continuing to learn, build their skills and gain valuable experience, while also enjoying their final year in the Junior Activities Program.

Congratulations to all 10 awardees, and a big thank you to Spider, Sean and John for supporting the next generation of Currumbin lifesavers.
