Australian Air League - Doncaster Squadron The Australian Air League is a youth group for boys and girls aged 8 years and older.

The Australian Air League is a national youth organisation for boys and girls aged 8 years and older. It's aims are to promote and encourage the development of aviation in the youth of Australia , to promote good citizenship, teamwork and to develop the ingenuity and resourcefulness of it's members.

A very special thank you to Doncaster Squadron’s home - Greythorn Bowling Club - for their wonderful hospitality and encouragement this year. We are so lucky to spend our parade nights here and for the great support of Jim, Jac and all the team.

What a sensational Presentation Night to end the Doncaster Squadron year! Congratulations to all of the Cadets for their exceptional achievements this year, supported by our brilliant OC, Thomas, and the Officer team.

Thank you to our Branch especially President David and Michelle for their sensational efforts all year and support of all the squadron activities.

Thanks to everyone for bringing a plate to help make it an enjoyable evening to celebrate the cadets. A big thanks also for the parents that stayed & helped us clean up and get the room reset.

All the best to everyone for the New Year as we look forward to more adventures with the Australian Air League!

✈️ Doncaster Squadron soared to new heights in October at our inaugural Gliding Weekend with Mount Beauty Gliding Club!

With the spectacular back-drop of Mount Beauty, Mount Bogong and Big Hill, we were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Over two intensive days, 12 of our Cadets experienced enriching classes, simulator lessons and two gliding lessons with expert instructors.

The Cadets did us proud - with great engagement and enthusiasm, delighted to be experiencing gliding in such a breathtaking location.

We even set a new height record with one winch launch!

Our most heartfelt thanks to the incredibly generous volunteer team at Mount Beauty Gliding Club for their welcome, encouragement and for sharing their insight so generously with the Cadets.

Huge thanks to our dedicated officer, Michelle, for organising such a fabulous event, and to our wonderful support team including Officers Lisa and Stephen, and Branch President, David.

And a special shout out to Peter Dean, who planned this weekend with Michelle for two years then was not well enough to enjoy it with us. Please get well - we’ll be back next year!

This year’s chuck glider building course was generously provided by the fabulous team at the Doncaster Aeromodellers Club with the assistance of
Greensborough Model Aircraft Club.
Over four weeks, our Cadets were guided to construct gliders, then test their flight!
We are very grateful to both clubs and all the volunteers who attended!
