A good morning supporting Kingborough Salvos with a sausage sizzle at their ANZAC Memorial Church Service. We even had the pleasure of the bag pipes playing the well known tune Amazing Grace.

It has been a good day providing refreshments at the ANZAC Services. We started with the dawn service and finished with the parade and midday service. There is nothing quite like being at the Hobart Cenotaph early morning, with the quiet and stillness allowing people attending time to reflect on those who paid the ultimate sacrifice but also remember those who have or are currently serving. A big thank you to all those that have volunteered today.

We had a good day on Saturday serving food at the footy where the little maestro Gary Ablett Jr was making a one off appearance for the Mighty Magpies the Glenorchy District Football Club. There was plenty of good food and lots of laughs, unfortunately Glenorchy didn’t win but many people saw the great man in one of his last games.

A good couple of days providing refreshments at the HAMST Fair. The focus this year was the bombing of Darwin in February 1942. There was plenty of conversation especially in relation to the Sallyman and lots of memories from old diggers who had been supported by them.

On Saturday we had the privilege of serving food to those attending the open day at Angelsea Barracks which also coincided with the 125th anniversary of the Army and Navy.
Angelsea Barracks is Australia’s oldest military establishment still in operation, it serves as a historic Defence site featuring convict built structures.
There were plenty of information stands and demonstrations through out the day.

You know it is Christmas when the baked ham comes out.
On Monday night we had the privilege of catering for the first responders at the SES Depot in Swansea for their annual Christmas dinner.
Thanks to Steve and Linda from East Coast Salvos for their support and to Kelvin from the SES for the invite.
A traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings ………. Yum!
