Rotary Club of North Hobart

Rotary Club of North Hobart Join our team Tuesdays at 6 PM at The Maypole Hotel. Relationships that build trust to turn ideas into action.

Find your volunteering home in Hobart. 🤝 We bridge the gap between career and community through high-impact work like our Calvary-supported 'Steady on Your Feet' project. Networking with a Purpose. Volunteering with Impact. We're the Rotary Club of North Hobart. Who We Are:

The Rotary Club of North Hobart is a dynamic, multi-generational collective of Hobart locals—from young professionals to sea

soned mentors—who believe that "small things make a big difference". We’ve traded stiff boardrooms for the relaxed vibe of The Maypole Hotel, where we meet every Tuesday at 6:00 PM to catch up over a drink and coordinate our latest projects. What We’re Doing Right Now:

We don’t just "meet"—we take action. Whether we are launching our Steady on Your Feet health initiative at Bunnings to keep our neighbors safe, or growing our Recycling Rewards stream with SEED, we focus on projects that are easy to join and high in impact. Why Join Us?Flexible Volunteering: We know life is busy. Our projects, like the 28-Day Challenge, are designed to fit into your schedule. Professional Networking: Connect with a diverse group of leaders across Hobart in a relaxed, "no-stealth-meeting" environment. Global Reach: From managing KIVA microfinance to supporting the AYUI Foundation, we give you a platform to change lives locally and abroad. Stop by for a drink this Tuesday at The Maypole (6 PM). No pressure, no formal "pitch"—just come see how easy it is to make North Hobart your volunteering home.

Thank you to Hobart Airport for your amazing support of our DV Safe Phone project. Two fabulous partners. We are very blessed. .

You can donate your old mobile phone to support people experiencing domestic violence.

Through our Community Grants Program, we provided $10,000 to the Rotary Club of North Hobart to support their partnership with DV Safe Phone, a program that refurbishes and distributes mobile phones to people experiencing domestic violence.

These phones provide a safe, unmonitored way to stay connected and access support services.

If you have an unused mobile phone, you can donate it at Hobart Airport.

📍 Drop-off is available at our Administration Building, Monday to Friday during business hours.

THANK YOU to the Rotary Club of Hobart for inviting our member Dr Tara Anderson to address their club on End Polio Now. The club's promotion invites all interested to come on Thursday but you must reply before then. Here are the details:
🌏 On the brink of history… and you can be part of it.

This week, the Rotary Club of Hobart is delighted to welcome Dr Tara Anderson, Infectious Diseases Physician and Clinical Microbiologist, for an interactive and thought-provoking session on Poliomyelitis and the global effort to eradicate polio.

Dr Anderson, a member of the Rotary Club of North Hobart, brings over 30 years of experience at the Royal Hobart Hospital, specialising in infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship. Her insights into the ongoing challenges of polio eradication are not to be missed.

Rotary is closer than ever to eliminating polio worldwide—but finishing the job requires continued support.

💡 Through the PolioPlus Society in Tasmania, you can join a founding group committed to ending polio. A simple annual contribution of US$100 is matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation—amplifying your impact.
👉 This is a rare opportunity to be part of one of the greatest public health achievements in history.

Our club is proud of every contribution and grateful for every partner, with particular thanks to Calvary Health Care in Hobart - Lenah Valley and St John’s Hospitals https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BNkNvcFv1/

The Rotary Club of North Hobart Steady on Your Feet campaign is helping older Australians stay strong, steady and independent through practical advice, balance checks and community partnerships.

From radio interviews to real conversations in the community, this initiative proves prevention starts with connection. A powerful example of Rotary’s theme: Unite for Good.
