As part of our Beyond Brave New Works project we supported four amazing local artists who were part of the 2026 Brave New Works lineup, to attend the WA Showcase.

The WA Showcase is Western Australia's largest annual performing arts conference. This event provides opportunities for professional development and networking. This experience will support Inge, Harpo, Myla and Maycie to take their careers to the next level. Watch this space!

This NAIDOC Week marks , celebrating, recognising and honouring the strength, resilience and achievements of First Nations peoples and cultures.

We acknowledge the Menang Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which Denmark Arts lives, creates and gathers, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

This year's National NAIDOC Week poster, Paralpi, by Zaachariaha Fielding, is a powerful celebration of movement, connection and continuity. Through vibrant colour and rich symbolism, the artwork carries the stories of Ancestors while celebrating the creativity and cultural strength of future generations.

The work speaks to storytelling as a living practice, one that continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to Country, culture and identity.

At Denmark Arts, we celebrate the arts as a powerful way to share stories, build understanding and honour the world's oldest continuing living cultures.

We are grateful for the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the remarkable work of First Nations artists during NAIDOC Week and beyond.

Join us on Friday July 10 at the ArtsHouse for an evening of storytelling presented by author Peter Murphy and Perth singer/songwriter and publisher Fred Rea.

When six Irish political prisoners (Fenians) made a daring escape from Western Australia in 1876, little is known of what became of them after their arrival in America.. Fremantle to Freedom (published Feb 2026) explores what became of the ‘Catalpa 6’ after their daring prison escape.

The sold out show of Beanstalk had the Civic Centre full of smiling faces. This impressive one man show used fairy floss and other clever props to tell the lesser known story of the Giant from Jack & the Beanstalk - what a hilarious time it was! 🌱

A big thanks to Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and CircuitWest: Shows on the Go for bringing this creative spectacle to Denmark. It was such a joy to have this touring show as part of our Denmark Festival of Voice program, and to see so many local families come along.

At Denmark Arts we feel very lucky to create opportunities for local and regional artists to take centre stage, and to live in a place that embraces live music and performing arts so wholeheartedly! 🙏🎶✨ We were blown away by the inspiring acts last weekend at the 23rd Denmark Festival of Voice. What was your favourite part?! For us, it’s too hard to choose!
