The Prohibited Burn Period has been extended, and will remain in place until SUNDAY 29 MARCH.

REMEMBER - during the Prohibited Burning Period no outdoor fires are permitted anywhere in the Shire of Denmark. This includes camp and cooking fires.

🔥HARVEST AND VEHICLE MOVEMENT BAN DECLARED🔥

Due to EXTREME WEATHER, a HARVEST AND VEHICLE MOVEMENT BAN will be in place from 9 am to 6 pm TOMORROW, THURSDAY 22 JANUARY, across the Shire of Denmark.

During a Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban:
⛔ YOU CANNOT conduct any off-road activity which involves the operation of any internal combustion engine-powered vehicle or machine such as a tractor, ute, motorbike, excavator, chainsaw, generator, lawnmower and so on (off-road includes paddocks, bushland, uncleared land and grass).
⛔ YOU CANNOT carry out business as usual if your work involves any of the above-mentioned conditions.

✅ You can drive onto a paddock if there is an immediate and serious threat to the health and safety of a person or livestock. All reasonable precautions must be taken to prevent the creation of a bushfire danger.
✅ You can use a vehicle on gazetted roads, lanes, driveways and yards if they provide access to or parking at any residential, farming or business premises and if the area is sufficiently clear of flammable material.

On a high-risk fire danger day, the advice from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA is:

‼️ TAKE ACTION NOW TO PROTECT YOUR LIFE AND PROPERTY

Fires will spread quickly and be extremely dangerous in these conditions. Take immediate action if a fire starts. If you and your property are not prepared to the highest level, plan to leave early.

East Denmark Bushfire Brigade would like to thank Mark & the Crew from True North for donating the branches (Nozzles) to our Brigade. With this kind donation we are able to run multiple hoses instead of being restricted to one at a time. 👨🏻‍🚒👩🏻‍🚒🚒

Please respect that you are not allowed to light camp fires in Denmark during the prohibited period. Even the smallest fire has the potential to get away when you think you have extinguished it.

Call out today was for a campfire on the Hay river. The people who had lit it thought they had extinguished it but digging in it was found to still be hot and had the potential to escape later.

Due to heightened risk and reduced capacity of bushfire brigades a HARVEST AND VEHICLE MOVEMENT BAN will be in place from 8am to 6pm on the following dates:
➡ THURSDAY 25 December
➡ FRIDAY 26 December.
➡ THUSRDAY 1 January
