🌟 Darwin Free Feeds Sunday Roundup! 🌟

Another wonderful Sunday at Darwin Free Feeds, bringing our community together through good food, generosity, and kindness. ❤️

This Sunday, we served approximately 170 people at Cenotaph Carpark, with plenty of delicious meals and treats to share!

🍽️ This week’s menu included:

Sweet and Sour Pork
Beef stew with sweet potato mash
pasta bologanise
Beef burgers
Beef Wraps
Curried Snags and rice
160 Sandwiches
24 Salads with Chicken Snitzel
lots of donuts and cakes
Watermelon
Fruit

🌟 Darwin Free Feeds Sunday Roundup 🌟

We’ve been a little quiet on Facebook over the past two weeks, but the work behind the scenes has continued and this Sunday was a particularly special one for Darwin Free Feeds.

A huge thank you to DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin for working alongside us and helping organise this Sunday’s Free Feeds as part of Travel with Purpose Week.

Their team joined Darwin Free Feeds to help with the preparation, cooking, packing and organisation needed to get meals ready for the community. Together, more than 150 meals were prepared and shared.

There is always a lot happening before a Sunday feed begins, and having another team step in and contribute their time, effort and resources made a significant difference.

We are very grateful to the team at DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin for choosing to spend their time supporting the local community and for helping us make this week’s feed possible. 💛

Of course, a special thank you as well to Lyn Kelso and the team at Friendly Pool & Spa Care along with all of our regular volunteers, donors and supporters who continue to help Darwin Free Feeds after week. Whether you cook, pack, serve, donate, organise supplies or help behind the scenes, every contribution matters.

🌿 Darwin Free Feeds – Sunday Community Meal 🌿
Sunday means another chance for our volunteers and supporters to come together at Cenotaph Carpark and share a meal with members of the Darwin community.
A lot goes into each weekly feed before the first meal is served. Food needs to be prepared, packed, transported, set up and handed out, and none of that happens without people giving their time and helping where they can.

🍽️ This week’s menu:
Sweet and Sour Pork with rice
Sweet and Sour Basa fillets with rice
Beef stew and veggies with sweet potato mash
Honey soy chicken with rice
Creamy chicken and mushroom pasta
Curried chicken and rice
Beef burgers
Turkey burgers
120 sandwiches
Watermelon
Bananas and oranges
Cake and pastries for desert thanks to Evelyn Paterson

🌟 Another Sunday with Darwin Free Feeds 🌟

Each week looks a little different, but the purpose stays the same — bringing people together, sharing a meal, and supporting members of our community.

This Sunday, our team was back at Cenotaph Carpark, preparing and serving food with the help of volunteers, donors, and local supporters who continue to make these weekly feeds possible.

Honey and Soy Fish

Creamy chicken and mushroom pasta

🌟 Darwin Free Feeds Sunday Roundup! 🌟

Another Sunday, another big community effort at Cenotaph Carpark. 💛

Our volunteers were busy preparing and serving a wide variety of meals again this week, including:

🍚 Sweet & sour basa with rice
🥩 Sweet & sour pork with rice
🍝 Creamy chicken & mushroom pasta
🥗 30 chicken salads
🥪 160 sandwiches
🌭 Curried sausages
🍝 Pasta bolognese
🥩 Steak with vegetables
🍗 Honey mustard chicken with rice

A huge thank you to Friendly Pool & Spa Care, MD Fresh Produce Darwin and Woolworths for continuing to support Darwin Free Feeds with food and produce.

We also want to give a special shoutout to the wonderful people who came into the shop and personally donated bread and meals. Those individual donations make a genuine difference and help us serve more people in our community. ❤️

And, of course, thank you to all of our volunteers, donors and supporters specially Evelyn Paterson who give their time, food and energy each week. Darwin Free Feeds could not continue doing this without you.

🥪 120 sandwiches, including chicken and ham, cheese & egg
🍗 Chicken with vegetables
🍝 Pasta bolognese

A huge thank you to Woolworths, Domino's Pizza Millner, Friendly Pool & Spa Care for their weekly donation and Journey Early Learning Nightcliff for their generous support and contributions this week. Your help makes a real difference and allows us to keep providing meals to people in our community.

What another fantastic Sunday with our Darwin Free Feeds community! 💛

This week, we served approximately 170 people at Cenotaph Carpark, with plenty of delicious food prepared and shared by our amazing volunteers.

🍽️ On the menu this week:

🍚 Sweet & sour fish, pork and chicken served with rice
🍗 Soy chicken with rice
🍝 Pasta bolognese
🥪 Around 120 freshly made sandwiches**, including:
* Fresh chicken & cheese
* Ham, cheese & egg
* Salami & cheese
🥗 Chicken salads and other fresh salads

A huge thank you to MD Fresh Produce Darwin and Woolworths for their continued generosity and food donations. Your support helps us put together these meals every week and makes a real difference. 🙌

And, as always, the biggest thank you goes to our incredible volunteers, donors and supporters. From preparing food and making sandwiches to serving meals and helping everything run smoothly, Darwin Free Feeds simply wouldn’t happen without you. ❤️

A big thank you to 2 of our regular cookers that provide 30-40 meals each week. They are leaving Darwin and so we hope that there is some kind hearted people that can cook some meals for us. If you can please contact us.
