A five piece band from Kaltukatjara close to the border of NT and WA. They’ve spent years honing their distinctive desert reggae sound while playing from coast to coast.

They released their debut album “W.A Border” in 2025 - singing in both Pintjantjatjara and English after years of building a strong reputation across regional and remote areas.

Djunmili Yunupingu is an emerging YolƋu artist and producer.

His work draws across genres, blending contemporary hip hop and R&B with a broad palette of musical influences to create a sound that is both modern and reflective of his roots.

He began producing sound at age of 13 - now representing a generation of YolƋu artists continuing the cultural responsibility of sharing knowledge, identity, and perspective through their work.

We are officially 2 years old (+ 3 months) and it has been a privilege to work alongside , and in the first round of our programs.

The bands’ journeys have reinforced what we believed from the beginning: when the playing field is leveled, even slightly, artists from remote Australia can thrive. 

We’re ready to rip into 2026 supporting three new artists, delivering more events and panels, and taking more solar-powered shows into remote communities! 

2025 was HUGE - here is a snapshot of some of the BMF wins:  
- supported 8 tours and put on 23 shows 
- contributed to 3 original recording projects 
- spearheaded 4 PR campaigns 
- designed and sold 5 merchandise campaigns 
- delivered 3 panel discussions @ Indie-Con, Regional and Remote Music Summit and BIGSOUND
- curated 2 multi artist performances 
- raised $250,000+ to invest directly in bands
