It’s a natural instinct to want to help, but offering food or water to injured wildlife can do more harm than good.

Animals in shock can’t safely eat or drink, and this can lead to serious complications.

The best thing you can do is keep them calm, contained, and get them into care as soon as possible.

If you’re unsure, reach out. We’re here to help!

Can you help save Elizabeth Curly? 💚

This sweet girl was hit by a car in Helensvale and brought into the Wildlife Hospital with a skull fracture and a ruptured eardrum.

She’s receiving care and is recovering well 🐨

Stories like Elizabeth Curly’s are all too common, and it takes time, expertise and resources to give animals like her the care they need. Some Koalas can cost up to $7,000 to treat.

If you can, please consider donating to help save wildlife. Donations before June 30 are tax deductible.

And if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this post can help more people see her story 🫶

From endangered Koalas to orphaned baby Birds, native wildlife relies on Currumbin Wildlife Hospital’s Vets and Vet Nurses to be ready at a moment’s notice.

They don’t wait for the right time.
They don’t wait for funding cycles.
And they can’t wait until tomorrow.

Donate by 30 June to give every sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife a fighting chance. Because big or small, every patient matters. 💚

A few quiet moments of recovery 🐢💚

These Eastern Longneck Turtles (Piplup and Snek Nek) are taking it slow at the Wildlife Hospital.

After heavy rain, turtles are often on the move and can end up crossing roads or being washed into unsafe areas.

If you’re driving after rain, keep an eye out and slow down near waterways.

This tax time, you can help protect wildlife like these guys. Donations before June 30 are tax deductible and support life-saving care - please donate to the link in bio 💚

This World Environment Day, it’s a reminder that littering has real impacts on wildlife 🦢

Fishing line and hooks are one of the most common causes of injury in the waterbirds brought into Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

What might seem small can cause serious harm.

Please share this post to help raise awareness 💚

Poor little one 💔

This young cygnet was found with a hook and sinker lodged externally and had ingested fishing line.

The veterinary team carefully removed the line and ran x-rays to make sure there were no hidden hooks. Thankfully, after some care, this little one was safely reunited with its family the very next day 🦢

This is the reality for so many of our waterbirds. Discarded fishing gear can cause serious harm.

This tax time, you can help give wildlife a second chance. Donations made before June 30 are tax deductible and support life-saving care. Please donate to 'Tax Appeal 2026' in bio 💚
