Our volunteers patrol Tugun beach on weekends and public holidays from September through to May each year.

Whether it’s long hours on the beach in the blazing sun, bunkering down in the pouring rain, over Easter, Christmas, or any ordinary day in between, to our volunteer patrol members — we see you.

Today marks the very first Red & Yellow Day. Between the 3rd March and 6th May any donation, big or small is helps our volunteers to continue providing essential lifesaving equipment, training, education programs, and support for our volunteers. Every dollar raised stays local and directly supports our patrol members who give their time to protect us all.

There are two colours every Australian instantly recognises at the beach. Two flags that create a safe place for everyone. The red and yellow.

On 4 March 2026, Tugun Surf Life Saving Club will proudly join clubs across the country in celebrating the very first national Red & Yellow Day — a nationwide tribute to the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and heart to keeping our beaches safe.

At Tugun, those red and yellow flags fly thanks to the dedication of our patrol members — from our seasoned lifesavers to the next generation coming through our Nippers and surf sports programs. Early mornings, long patrol hours, training sessions, community events — it’s all driven by one thing: a commitment to protecting our beach and our community.

We’re inviting our Tugun community to get behind us and help raise vital funds to ensure we can continue to patrol, train, educate and keep Tugun Beach safe for locals and visitors alike.
