Vietnam Veterans’ Day Commemorative Service 🇦🇺

Today, 18 August 2026, the Committee and members of the Cronulla RSL Sub Branch, along with Acting CEO Bradley Bishop and Director Peter Hazeldine, who is also a Sub Branch member, attended the Vietnam Veterans’ Day Commemorative Service hosted by the Engadine RSL Sub Branch.

It was a memorable and respectful service, honouring all those who served in Vietnam, those who fought, and those who never returned home.

Following the service, members and guests gathered at Club Engadine for refreshments and a private function.

During the function, Cronulla RSL Sub Branch President Cory Rinaldi and Engadine RSL Sub Branch President Brad Copelin were both honoured to receive a Quilt of Valour, presented by Steven Cosgrove.

Over the past few years, Cory and Brad have worked hand in hand to bring our two Sub Branches closer together, building a strong unit and support network not only for our members, but for the wider community.

It was especially fitting that this presentation took place on Vietnam Veterans’ Day, as the 2025 Vietnam Veterans’ Day commemorations held in Cronulla marked the first time our two Sub Branches came together to commemorate side by side.

A day to remember for so many reasons.

On behalf of the Cronulla RSL Sub Branch, we sincerely thank the Engadine RSL Sub Branch and Club Engadine for their wonderful hospitality and for allowing us to come together to commemorate, remember and honour our Vietnam veterans.

Lest We Forget. 🇦🇺

The RSL Australia President, along with quite a few other major ESO Presidents and CEOs, have signed off on a letter to Matt Keogh about scrapping the cap.

It is disappointing to see RSL NSW has shown so little interest or willingness to fight for it.

Congratulations to Rohan Browning – Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist! 🥇

Everyone at Cronulla RSL Sub Branch extends our heartfelt congratulations to Rohan Browning and his Australian teammates on their outstanding gold medal victory in the Men's 4x100m Relay at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. It was Australia's first Commonwealth Games gold in the event since 1974, making the achievement even more special.

This remarkable success is made even more meaningful for our Sub Branch, as Rohan is the son of our Committee member, Andrew Browning. We know Andrew and his family have proudly supported Rohan throughout his athletics journey, and this gold medal is a wonderful reward for years of dedication, perseverance and hard work.

Rohan's determination, sportsmanship and commitment continue to inspire Australians both on and off the track. His anchor leg helped secure a memorable victory for the green and gold, adding another proud chapter to Australian athletics history.

On behalf of all our members, congratulations to Rohan, Andrew, and the entire Browning family on this incredible achievement. We are immensely proud to celebrate this success with you.

Well done, Rohan – your Cronulla RSL Sub Branch family is cheering you on every step of the way! 🇦🇺👏
