100km CRUSHED. Now, let’s hit the fundraising goal! 👣💥

The boys from Built Ready (Rep Ready) have been pounding the pavement, and we are proud to announce we’ve officially hit our 100km milestone for One Foot Forward! 🏁

While the legs are feeling those kilometres, our mission isn’t over. We’ve raised $333 so far, but our sights are set on $1,000 to support vital mental health research and services. 🧠❤️

This isn't just about the distance; it’s about raising awareness for the mental health challenges faced by so many in our community and veteran network. Every dollar counts and stays right here helping those who need it most.

Laughter, Dancing, and $2,000 Raised! 🎤✨

Our Trivia Night was one for the books! From the trivia masters to the dance floor stars, it was amazing to see the Sub Branch, the Cronulla RSL staff, and our local community come together for such an awesome Friday night.

The Highlights:
✅ Over $2,000 raised for our veterans!
✅ A room full of laughs and legendary dance moves.
✅ Incredible support from the Shire community.

Today marks 25 years since Operation Slipper officially began—Australia’s first military contribution to the war in Afghanistan and the start of its longest military campaign.

Over its 20 years, the operation deployed more than 35,000 ADF personnel. Of these, 263 were wounded and 41 died. Australia’s national Roll of Honour records 47 deaths in total, including personnel who later succumbed to their injuries or died as a direct result of their deployment.

Today, with pride and respect, I thank all who served and the families who remained strong while their loved ones were deployed. I also honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and assure their families that their loved ones will never be forgotten.

🇦🇺 A Day Out at Victoria Barracks! 🇦🇺

Members of the Cronulla RSL Sub Branch, along with Taco, enjoyed a fantastic day trip and tour of Victoria Barracks.

It was a wonderful opportunity to step inside this historic military precinct, learn more about its rich history and heritage, and share the experience with fellow members.

A great day of mateship, history and plenty of stories along the way! 🇦🇺👏

STATEMENT FROM PRESIDENT CORY RINALDI

Following the recent ABC Four Corners “Defenceless” investigation into predatory companies exploiting veterans and the DVA system, Cronulla RSL Sub-Branch stands firm: We unequivocally condemn any organisation that exploits veterans for profit.

It is incredibly frustrating to see companies use veteran branding to fund lavish lifestyles while vulnerable veterans struggle daily to get the support they need. It simply does not pass the pub test.

We want you to know that you are not alone, and you can count on us:

🤝 Unsure about a provider? Contact the Sub-Branch. Our experienced veterans can help point you in the right direction.

🌱 Looking forward: We are actively partnering with Engadine Sub-Branch to build a new Wellbeing Support Officer (WSO) package to connect you with trusted, free advocacy, allied health, and veteran-owned directory services.

🧡 Stepping up for mental health! 🧡

This October, the Cronulla RSL Sub-Branch is putting one foot forward for the 1 in 5 Australians who experience mental illness each year.

Our veterans and community members are taking on the Black Dog Institute One Foot Forward walking challenge to raise vital funds for ground-breaking mental health research, digital tools, and support services.

Moving our bodies is one of the best ways to support our own wellbeing, but doing it together means we can break the stigma and show those struggling that they are never alone.
