IMC Launchpad 2026 applications are open, a highly selective three-day program at IMC’s Sydney office this October, running across two streams:

Trading & Quant Research:
Participate in IMC’s in-house trading simulations, build quantitative strategies, and work at the intersection of markets, mathematics, and real-time decision-making. Tests your analytical reasoning, probability instincts, and ability to adapt under pressure.

Engineering:
Dive into the technology stack that powers one of the world’s leading trading firms. Take on hands-on engineering workshops and explore how the systems behind global markets are designed, tested, and optimised. Tests your programming fundamentals, technical judgement, and systems thinking.

Standout performers in both streams are fast-tracked to an offer for IMC’s 2027/28 Summer Internship Program.

Who it’s for:
1st/2nd year STEM students graduating 2028 or 2029
Studying at an Australian or NZ university
HD average preferred, Australian working rights
Engineering stream: strong fundamentals in Python, C++, or Java

Algothon 2026 is back!

UNSW Fintech and Susquehanna are bringing back their Algothon to students across Australia and NZ: an algorithmic trading competition run by one of the world’s leading quant trading firms.

Teams of 2–4 can attend workshops on Python and AI/ML for trading, then design and build data-driven trading algorithms judged across a Practice, Qualifier, and Finalist set.

These are the prizes if you are one of the finalists:
🥇 $5000 pp
🥈 $2500 pp
🥉 $1000 pp

These are the key dates:
• Applications open: 8 June
• Python workshop: 30 June
• AI/ML & Data Analysis workshop: 2 July

Workshops run in-person and online, so distance isn’t an issue from Perth.

Trading Team is a highly selective 12-week program led by past interns and incoming graduate traders at the world’s leading quantitative-finance firms. We distil what we’ve learned at the top of the industry and pass it directly to the next cohort.
