Yesterday Allambi Care was proud to welcome Lake Macquarie Lake Macquarie Mayor - Cr Adam Shultz , The Hon. Yasmin Catley MP Catley, community partners and stakeholders to the Tiny Homes Project Open Home at Belmont North. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase how innovative partnerships can create real housing outcomes for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity within our community.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mayor Adam Shultz and Lake Macquarie City Council for their vision and partnership in making land available for this project. Council’s commitment to affordable housing has enabled Allambi Care to deliver safe, stable and affordable homes that support people to build independence, dignity and long-term housing security.

A special thank you to Minister Yasmin Catley for her support of initiatives that address homelessness and housing affordability across our region. We also acknowledge the important contribution of the NSW State Government and the Homelessness Innovation Fund, whose investment in innovative housing solutions has helped make projects like this possible, providing practical pathways out of homelessness and into long-term housing stability.

We are incredibly grateful to Bunnings Warehouse for their generous donations to help furnish and equip the homes for future residents. Also thanks to Tiny Homes 4 U
Contributions such as these make a significant difference, helping to create welcoming and comfortable spaces where people can feel safe and supported from day one.

This project demonstrates what can be achieved when local government, state government, community organisations, businesses and community members come together with a shared vision. Together, we are not only building homes, but creating opportunities, strengthening communities and providing hope for the future.

It takes a special kind of person to work with young people. Liam spent 20 years as a press photographer before moving into his own video work. While working for himself had its rewards, the constant workload and lack of time off made him realise he needed a change, something more meaningful.

"Honestly, from the moment I gave it a go and got in, I did not anticipate how much I was going to enjoy how worthwhile the work was to have a job where I'm getting to support and help people on a day-to-day basis and people that genuinely need it, it's been amazing."

We celebrated Wear It Purple Day at our Allambi office — coming together to show our support for young people and celebrate the importance of creating safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces where everyone can be themselves.
A special shoutout to the young people and staff who came together to run the event. From the planning through to the speeches, it was a wonderful example of young people having a voice, taking the lead and creating positive change. 💜
