To every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart in service to others, thank you. Your generosity does not go unnoticed, and your willingness to step forward, often when others step back, is nothing short of inspiring. You represent the very best of community spirit: kindness in action, compassion without expectation, and dedication without recognition.

A very special thank you goes to the incredible volunteers within our marine rescue community. In all conditions, calm or challenging, you stand ready to answer the call. Whether it’s assisting those in distress, safeguarding lives, or providing reassurance in moments of uncertainty, your courage and professionalism make a profound difference. You are often the quiet heroes on the water, bringing hope where it’s needed most.

Your commitment goes beyond duty, it reflects a deep care for people, for safety, and for each other. The countless hours you dedicate, the skills you continually refine, and the sacrifices you make do not go unseen. Because of you, families are reunited, lives are protected, and communities feel safer.

To all volunteers, and especially our marine rescue teams, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for your service, your strength, and your unwavering dedication. You make the world a better, safer place.

We’re proud to tick off our 10th year supporting the most vulnerable in our community — our kids!
Being part of the Good Friday Appeal each year is something truly special, and we’re honoured to continue helping make a difference.
Our volunteers today did an amazing job helping to raise much needed funds for the Royal Children’s hospital.

Congratulations to all involved in this massive community event.

🚨 New Addition to the Fleet! 🚨

Carrum Coast Guard is excited to announce the introduction of a hovercraft into our rescue fleet!

This new capability will significantly improve our ability to respond quickly and safely to emergencies across Port Phillip Bay, especially in shallow waters, tidal zones, and hard‑to‑reach coastal areas where traditional vessels can’t operate as effectively.

Thank you to our volunteers and community supporters who make advancements like this possible.

Our primary rescue vessel CG07 is getting a facelift and will have new decals applied. She needs a few days to let the paint dry and then will be operational again. The really good news is that CG207 will available to respond to emergencies while the paint dries!

If you need assistance when out on the water call 000 and request Water Police.

Carrum Coast Guard slipped out of Patterson River early yesterday morning to cross Port Phillip for the Blessing of the Fleet in Queencliff, Victoria.

The Blessing of the Fleet has deep maritime roots, dating back centuries, particularly in fishing communities where priests would bless the town’s boats at the start of the season, asking for protection for the vessels and the crews who depended on the sea for their livelihood. Over time the tradition travelled with seafaring communities around the world, and it remains a meaningful way for coastal towns to acknowledge both the generosity and the power of the sea.

All the vessels gathered in the Harbour before heading out for the sail past — a reminder that the town’s connection with the water runs deep.

The Blessing was organised by the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum as part of Maritime Week. Coast Guard Queenscliff and neighbouring flotillas from around the bay and beyond were proud to take part in continuing this long-standing maritime tradition. ⚓️
