🐾 RUN FOR A CAUSE AT FISHER’S GHOST! 👻🏃‍♀️

Are you taking part in this year’s Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run? Why not make those kilometres count for local street cats?

Mulligan Meows is looking for runners and walkers to join our fundraising efforts at this year’s Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run on Sunday, 8 November!

Whether you’re tackling the 5km or 10km, you can help us raise much-needed funds for stray and abandoned cats right here in Campbelltown.

We’re a small, volunteer-run registered charity working to reduce the number of cats living on our streets through desexing, colony management, veterinary care and rehoming.

Every dollar raised helps us continue this work.

🐾 HOW TO GET INVOLVED

We are so saddened by the passing of our beloved colony cat, Mr Mistopheles — Mr M. 💔

Mr M came into our care around two months ago after we noticed he had been losing weight at the colony and was struggling with diarrhoea. While treating his gastrointestinal issues, we also discovered he was missing most of his teeth and had a mouth infection.

After treatment and blood tests, we confirmed that Mr M was FIV positive. Over the following weeks he continued to struggle with infections and his appetite, and despite everything we tried, he was unable to gain the weight back.

Eventually his digestive system began shutting down and he could no longer keep his food down. Even after emergency fluids the day before, his little body just couldn’t keep fighting.

We cuddled him for most of last night because we knew he probably wasn’t going to make it. He fought so hard.

Mr M had clearly been someone’s pet once. He wanted affection and warmth so badly, and we are grateful that in his final weeks we could give him some of that comfort, safety and love again.

May you join your colony mate George over the rainbow bridge, Mr Mistopheles. We love you and we will miss you. ❤️

Meet Mr M - a loving tux who just wants to be apart of a pack.

Mr M is the second critically ill cat that we have in our care. He has been in isolation for the past few weeks.

Unfortunately, despite multiple trips to the vet he is still unable to keep food down. Mr M has been admitted for IV fluids and antibiotics.

This setback has come despite 2 courses of antibiotics and injections of long lasting steroids, antibiotics and vitamins.

From his vet visits, Mr M is battling:

* Malnutrition
* FiV
* infected gums/teeth

If you would like to contribute to Mr M’s admission or vet care and recovery, you can donate directly to Mulligan Meows:

Please put your name and Mr M in the reference line.

Thank you to everyone who is helping us look after the often overlooked cats in rescue.

🌸 Beautiful Meadow is ready for adoption!

She is cute. She is playful. She is sweet!

Rescued from a colony at just 2 months old alongside her brothers and sister, Meadow was absolutely terrified of humans.

After lots of patience, love and rehabilitation, Meadow has blossomed into a purry, cuddly girl with so much love to give. ❤️

Meadow is best suited to a quiet home without young children, where she can continue to build her confidence and enjoy all the love and attention she deserves.

🐾 MEET DIESEL — DUMPED IN THE POURING RAIN 💔

Meet Diesel, a lovely young boy who was dumped near Fisher’s Ghost Park in Campbelltown.

We received a call for help from someone who witnessed Diesel being thrown out of a car in the pouring rain.

Clearly an indoor-only cat, Diesel was terrified and had no idea what to do. He found the closest place to hide under a parked car on a busy street.

When people tried to help him, he panicked and crawled straight into the engine bay. 😭

We monitored the car throughout the day and returned late that night when traffic had slowed. After a long, wet and exhausting rescue, we finally got him out and into safety.

Diesel is only around a year old. He’s a little skinny and has a few scratches, but otherwise appears to be in good health.

And what a lovely boy he is! He’s incredibly sweet, gentle and chilled out. He doesn’t seem bothered by kids or other cats and is clearly used to living indoors.

It’s such a shame that whoever raised this beautiful boy chose such a cruel way to get rid of him.

🏡 WILL YOU GIVE DIESEL A MULLIGAN?

He’s looking for a loving home with someone who won’t throw him away when he’s no longer wanted.

And please, if you can no longer keep your cat, DON’T DUMP THEM IN PARKS!

Cats raised indoors don’t know how to survive on the streets. They can get hit by cars, bullied by colony cats, attacked, injured or pick up diseases. They don’t suddenly know how to find food or keep themselves safe.

Reach out to us for help with rehoming, find a temporary foster, ask family or friends to look after him while we look for a new hew home. There are other options.

We stepped in because we knew if we didn’t, Diesel could very easily have ended up as roadkill.

Thankfully, this little man is safe now and deserves a second chance with a family who will love him for life. 🧡
