Shobi and Melissa from Pama recently attended the Construction Apprenticeships: Earn while you learn event, supporting jobseekers to create or update their resumes. 🙌

Four attendees worked with the Pama team to create their resumes, helping them take the next step towards future employment and apprenticeship opportunities. ⭐

A few familiar faces recently attended the CYP staff anniversary dinner, celebrating their many years of service across Cape York. 🌟

Joanne and Libby from Hope Vale, and Melissa from Cairns, were recognised for an incredible 15 years of service. Terence and Karis from Mossman Gorge were also celebrated for reaching 10 years of service. 🙌

Over the years, they have supported countless people, families and communities, and they continue to be there when local mob need a helping hand. 💙

Kelvin first opened his Personal Saver to work towards his goal of saving for a car. 🚗

But when his young granddaughter Bianca was selected to play rugby league for the Junior Mossman Sharks in Townsville, Kelvin updated his goal to help cover car hire for the trip. 🚙🙌

Personal Saver gives people a clear goal to work towards, while still allowing that goal to change when circumstances change. ⭐ For Kelvin, this meant the family could travel down together, enjoy the weekend and be there to cheer Bianca on from the sidelines. 🙌

Bianca was excited to take the field, and Kelvin was one very proud Granddad. 💙

Katrina is proud to see her daughter Zaina continuing to grow, learn and lead through her education journey at boarding school, as part of the Cape York Leaders Program. 🏫

SET has supported Zaina through her school years, most recently covering her school fees and camping equipment for her school camp. 🎒

Katrina shared, “I recommend our mob join SET because it has helped support my daughter Zaina’s education from daycare right through to today. SET will continue to support her until she graduates from the Cathedral school in five years’ time. I am so proud of my daughter’s achievements in education and sport, and the young role model and leader she is becoming for the next generation. I know she will have a positive future.”

Patrick recently enjoyed a well-earned holiday in Cairns to catch up with family and friends and do some shopping. 🌴

When he knew he needed to be in Cairns, he started planning early to organise his flights and accommodation. He set his goal in his Personal Saver and regularly checked Pama to make sure his contributions were coming through. ⭐

Patrick was grateful for the support he received in organising the trip, which made things nice and easy for him. He is happy to have his Personal Saver to lock away money for his goals. ✨ Next up, Patrick wants to open a second Personal Saver to start saving for a car. 🚗

An anonymous Mossman Gorge Personal Saver holder recently reached their goal of purchasing an industrial gurney to donate to BBN Aboriginal Corporation. 🙌

BBN’s previous gurney had broken down, so the new equipment was put to use straight away. Bryson and Aiden thanked the donor for their generosity before getting to work cleaning the O-Hub driveway. 💦

It is a great example of how a Personal Saver can help people work towards a meaningful goal while supporting their community. ⭐

Alicia and her three kids recently enjoyed their annual family trip to the Mareeba Rodeo, after months of planning and saving towards her Personal Saver goal. 🙌

Her Personal Saver helped cover everything they needed for the weekend, including rodeo and camping tickets, camping gear, rodeo outfits and food. By planning ahead, Alicia was able to enjoy the special family occasion without the added financial stress. ⛺💙

By working alongside people in person, he'll support them to confidently use the platform's digital tools to manage important information, access services and track progress towards their personal goals.

💛 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗡𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗢𝗖 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸.

Cape York Partnership was proud to be a sponsor of the Cairns NAIDOC Edor Carnival, hosted by Our Future Mentors at Watsons Oval last week on Wednesday, 8 July.

It was inspiring to see young people, families and community members come together for a day that celebrated culture, connection and healthy competition. Across the carnival, our teams from the Cape York Leaders Program, Pama Platform, O-Hub, Pama Futures and Mayi Market enjoyed catching up with community, sharing conversations and cheering on the participants.

Originating in Aurukun, Edor is a traditional game of chasing and tagging that brought incredible excitement to the day. The Junior and Youth competitions showcased teamwork, determination and great sportsmanship, making for a memorable celebration of culture in action.

Thank you to Our Future Mentors for delivering such a well-run event, and to everyone who volunteered, participated and supported the carnival. Together, you created a day that celebrated community, culture and the strength of our young people. 💛

Recently, the O-Hub team had the opportunity to present to a Jawun team from across Australia. 🌏 The session showcased the Pama Platform and Mayi Market, highlighting how innovation is helping expand access to practical supports and opportunities for families. 💡

The team also took part in a Pama challenge, with the highest-scoring group winning a coveted Pama shirt. 👕There was plenty of friendly competition, with teams working hard to earn points and take out the top spot! 🙌

It was a great opportunity to share the work of Pama, build connections and showcase how digital tools and community-led support can work together. ⭐
