This is an appreciation post for the wonderful Jim. He is not only a delight to work with, his service is exceptional, his family are beautiful and he is actively advocates for our work. If you see Jim around at Bangalow Post Office be sure to give him a smile. The world is brighter because of people like him. Without Jim and Australia Post we simply wouldn’t be able to get to remote locations. Mothers who would otherwise not have access to essentials are able to enter motherhood with everything they need.

This year we spent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day on a road trip to Gamilaraay Country. Taking time to connect with two of our Aboriginal Health Service partners - WAMS and PiusX Moree. Lots of kms, emus and wedge-tailed eagles later - we came home pretty exhausted but fully nourished. Our health service partners do such incredible work, walking hand in hand with their mums on their motherhood journey. We are so grateful to support then with the Coolamon.

Each week we get the honour of supporting more Aboriginal mums to have everything they need for the best start to their motherhood journey. It is the accumulation of many hands, many minds, lots of heart and a whole lot of relationships.

Coolamon Community has grown. We now operate in regional and remote communities across Australia - it was important that our messaging remained clear throughout the expansion.

Thanks to the support of Ingrained Foundation - we have proudly developed the Coolamon Community Film Series to support Aboriginal Healthcare Professionals and Aboriginal mums when it matters most.

Every Coolamon gift is put together with community behind it.

Each item has been thoughtfully chosen in consultation with Aboriginal health professionals, Aunties, Elders, and mummies - of course.

But it is more than what’s inside the box.
It’s about what those items represent — being held during an important time.

For many families, this is one of the first things they receive as they prepare to welcome a new baby.
We want it to feel considered, useful, and grounded in community knowledge.

We love deliveries. Opening boxes from our partners always feels like Christmas. This year we are increasing our output to regional and remote communities by 50%- this means our stock turnover demands more frequent deliveries. More giving, more love, more care, more hands.

Even though we have grown and now reach regional and remote areas across Australia - it is so important that our roots remain strong. The Northern Rivers is where we started and where our home is.
