What. A. Day.
Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me just how fortunate we are to work in such an incredible industry.
We kicked off with the AALARA Board Meeting, where the focus was firmly on the future. Productive discussions centred around strengthening AALARA, delivering even greater value for our members, advancing our advocacy efforts, expanding our industry influence, and setting the Association up for what is shaping up to be one of our strongest years yet. There is so much to look forward to, and I'm excited about what's ahead.
From there, it was off to the AALARA Member Connect at the Governors Pavilion at the Ekka. What an outstanding turnout! It was fantastic to bring together members from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast for an evening of networking, collaboration and genuine connection. These events continue to remind me just how special the AALARA community is.
A heartfelt thank you to Di Rigg, Cat, and Karl for taking the time to join us, especially amidst the organised chaos that is Ekka Eve week. Your support means so much, and we wish the whole team every success for the weeks ahead.
The day concluded at the Ekka 150th Anniversary Gala Dinnerโa truly memorable celebration of an extraordinary milestone. Hearing the stories, reflecting on the rich history, and recognising the incredible legacy of Queensland's Great Show was both heartwarming and inspiring. For 150 years, the Ekka has brought together communities from across Queensland, truly living its motto of "Where the Country Comes to the City."
What a day.
What an industry.
What an incredible community to be part of.
Now... the countdown is on!
In just two days, the gates open for another unforgettable Ekka. I can't wait to see the smiles on faces young and old, families creating lifelong memories, and the joy that only an event like the Ekka can bring.
Congratulations once again to everyone involved in reaching this remarkable 150-year milestone.
See you at the Ekka! ๐ก๐ ๐
