Thank you Rotary Burleigh Heads for your amazing support ❤️

There are some organisations that quietly go about changing lives every single day, and Walk With Us is one of them.

This week, the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads was proud to present a $1,000 donation to support the incredible work being led by Nikki Luke and her dedicated team of volunteers.

Many in our community will know Nikki as a recent recipient of our Pride of Workmanship Award, recognised for her unwavering commitment to helping those doing it tough. Through Walk With Us, she and her volunteers provide far more than a meal. They provide dignity, connection, hope and support when it is needed most.

Every week, Walk With Us serves three-course meals to people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship and social isolation. In today’s cost-of-living crisis, many families are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table, and this organisation is helping to bridge that gap.

Their impact doesn’t stop there. They also support school breakfast programs, helping address the reality that many children start the school day without a nutritious meal. Through food hampers, community partnerships and practical assistance, they continue to make a genuine difference across the Gold Coast.

Working alongside organisations such as OzHarvest and Orange Sky, their volunteer-driven model is remarkable. No one is paid. No one takes a share. Every dollar, every donation and every grant goes back into supporting the community and extending their reach.

We are honoured to support such a worthy cause and thank Nikki and her volunteers for the compassion, kindness and dedication they show every day.

Together, we can continue to make a difference, one meal, one family and one act of kindness at a time.

On Tuesday night we were lucky enough to receive a generous donation from the Craft & Charity Table at Burleigh Heads Bowls Club, Ladies section.

Their kindness and gratitude towards the work we do amongst the community, is one of the many reasons why we keep doing what we do.

Thank you to the ladies for believing in us and wanting to help us out to continue doing what we love.
