Love This City

For many local families, the rising costs of living mean there’s less and less left for the everyday essentials, including groceries.
We can help in a very practical way.

As we head into Term 4, our Pantry Project is preparing 70 grocery hampers for families across 11 local schools and communities, helping take a little pressure off the weekly shop and letting families know their community is FOR them.

And we’d love your help.

Screen shot the hamper list and grab an item (or two) to bring along to the The Junction

Or make a financial donation and we’ll do the shopping for you.

Then, on their very first night back for Term 4, OurYouth will pack all 70 hampers, ready to head out into our community.

We’re looking to have all donations in by Tuesday 6 October.

70 hampers.
11 schools and communities.
One simple way we can help local families doing it tough.

Locals helping locals.

Look at the difference you are making! 🥹♻️

We want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone in our amazing community who has been dropping their empty drink containers into our donation bins at The Junction!

Just to give you an idea of the impact you're having: we just received a notification that a single drop-off of 425 containers turned into a $42.50 donation for Love This City! 🥳🙌

When you toss your cans and bottles into our bins, you aren't just recycling—you are directly funding hope, care, and support for people right here in our city. Every single 10c adds up to make a massive difference.

Next time you’re heading past The Junction, bring your empties along! You clear your clutter, help the planet, and love your community all in one go. 💛
You guys are absolute legends!

Small acts, massive impact! 💛

At Love This City, we believe that transforming a community starts right where our future is growing—in our local schools. We recently had the incredible privilege of rolling up our sleeves and serving one of our local schools, and we captured the heart behind it all.

When we show up for our schools, we show up for our kids, our teachers, and our future. Check out this quick video to see the love in action! 👇

MEET PHIL: OUR 68-YEAR-OLD MARATHON MAN! 🌟

At a time when many people are taking it easy in their retirement, Phil is gearing up to run 21.1km.

At 68, he is proof that new challenges are the key to staying healthy and motivated through every stage of life.

This will be Phil's third half marathon. When asked why he chose Love This City as his cause this time, Phil shared that he simply felt a clear prompting that he needed to use his run to help others.
Previous marathons have had deep personal significance for Phil - his first run was for his beautiful wife, Jenny. For his third, he is combining his passion for running with his desire to make a tangible difference in our city.

Phil is an inspiration to us all, and his dedication is incredible.

If you want to support Phil as he tackles the Gold Coast Half Marathon and help us continue our work in the community, you can donate to his fundraiser.

Community Update: Supporting HavaFeed ❤️
As many of you know, our friends Lindsay and Robyn at HavaFeed had a tough break-in over the Easter break. They do incredible work serving the vulnerable in Mermaid Beach, and while the community response has been amazing, they are still facing some empty shelves a few weeks on.

Love This City is heading down early next week to make a special delivery, and we’d love to show up with a van full of supplies! 🚐💨

Even though we’ve just wrapped up our hamper drive, if you have any capacity to help, we are collecting the following high-priority items:

🥛 Long Life Milk

🌽 Tinned Veggies

🍝 Tinned Spaghetti

🥣 Cereal

How to help:

📍 Drop-off: Bring your donations this Sunday (or anytime before then!) to The Junction GC.
🎥 Watch more: See the impact HavaFeed makes below.

Let’s rally together and make sure Robyn and Lindsay have everything they need to keep serving our community. Thank you for always being so generous!

Friday morning well spent!

Big shout out of thanks to this incredible crew of volunteers who spent the last Friday of the school holidays packing clothing for our local hospital.

The Dress Her with Dignity program is a beautiful reminder that when we partner together, we can provide tangible hope to women in crisis. For a victim survivor presenting at hospital in such a vulnerable moment, this clothing, underwear and toiletry kits provide not just practical help, but a sense of safety and a reminder of her worth.

So grateful for our volunteers, generous donors, and our partnership with which makes this possible
