Zonta Gold Coast warmly congratulates Sandy Venn-Brown from Stanthorpe on her election as Zonta International President for the 2026–2028 Biennium.

This is a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for Australia, Queensland and the entire Zonta community. To lead an international organisation of more than 25,000 members across 62 countries is both an incredible honour and a significant responsibility.

We look forward to seeing Sandy in action as she leads Zonta International in its mission to build a better world for women and girls through advocacy, education and service. Her leadership, experience and passion for empowering women will no doubt inspire Zontians around the globe.

Having an Australian serving as Zonta International President is exciting and will hopefully further enhance the profile and impact of Zonta throughout Australia and beyond.

Congratulations Sandy on this outstanding achievement — we wish you every success in your international leadership journey.

Zonta Gold Coast is excited and proud to announce that our 2026 Young Women in Leadership Award applicant, Ava, has been awarded Third Place at Zonta District 22 level.

This wonderful achievement recognises Ava’s outstanding leadership, commitment to community service and passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.

In responding to the news, Ava shared that she was “truly honoured” to receive the award and deeply grateful for the support and encouragement provided by Zonta Gold Coast and the District team. She reflected on how meaningful it is to be recognised by an organisation that “empowers and celebrates young women’s leadership and community impact.”

We congratulate Ava on this well-deserved recognition and thank her for being such an inspiring young leader and role model within our community. We look forward to celebrating her achievements further and supporting her future leadership journey.

Zonta Gold Coast remains committed to empowering young women through leadership opportunities, advocacy and educational awards that encourage the next generation of changemakers.

This past week, Zonta Gold Coast has been proud to strengthen our connections with local schools and community networks across the Gold Coast.

We had the opportunity to contribute to the Helensvale State High School Mother’s Day Luncheon, the Merrimac Business, Alumni and Community Breakfast, and the State Schools 2026 Term 2 ILO Forum.

These events provided valuable opportunities to share the work of Zonta — advocating for gender equality, supporting women and girls, ending violence against women, and empowering young people through education and leadership opportunities.

We were also excited to promote the educational awards and scholarships available through Zonta Gold Coast, District and Zonta International, encouraging schools and students to apply and become involved in programs that recognise leadership, advocacy, academic excellence and community service.

Thank you to the schools, organisers and community members who welcomed us so warmly. Together, through partnership and connection, we can continue building a brighter and more equitable future for women and girls.

Harmony Day – Celebrating Inclusion, Respect and Belonging

On Harmony Day, we celebrate the rich cultural diversity that strengthens our Australian community and the values that unite us – respect, equality and inclusion.

At Zonta Gold Coast, we believe that building a better world for women and girls means creating communities where every person is valued, every voice is heard, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Harmony Day reminds us that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. When people of different cultures, experiences and perspectives come together, we build stronger, more compassionate communities.

Through our advocacy, partnerships and service, Zonta works to advance gender equality, human rights and inclusive opportunities for all women and girls.

Today we celebrate the many cultures that make up our community and reaffirm our commitment to a future where equality and inclusion guide our actions every day.

Everyone belongs.

Zonta Yellow Rose Month – Celebrating Remarkable Women and Girls

March is Zonta Yellow Rose Month, a time when we celebrate and recognise the incredible women and girls in our community who are making a difference in the lives of others.

The yellow rose is a symbol of friendship, support, and the commitment to building a better world for women and girls. Throughout this month, Zonta Gold Coast will be highlighting and acknowledging remarkable individuals whose leadership, compassion, and courage inspire positive change in our community.

These women and girls are educators, leaders, advocates, volunteers, innovators, and quiet achievers who lift others up and help create a more equal and hopeful future.

If you know a woman or girl on the Gold Coast who deserves recognition, we invite you to share her story with us. Together, we can celebrate the people who inspire change and strengthen our community.

Let’s continue to recognise, encourage, and uplift the remarkable women and girls around us.

What a fantastic day at our Bunnings Arundel Sausage Sizzle!
Not only was it a great success as a fundraiser, but it was also a wonderful opportunity to raise the profile of Zonta in our local community.
With our vibrant display positioned at the entrance, we were proud to share information about our projects, advocacy work, and our commitment to building a better world for women and girls. A special thank you to our Friend of Zonta, Monika, who warmly engaged with customers — letting them know who we are, what we do, and encouraging them to support our work by purchasing tickets in the Zonta Raffle.
Throughout the day, Zontians and our supportive partners worked side by side, cooking and selling sausages and drinks — all for a cause. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and community spirit, and it was heartening to see people not only enjoy a snag but also stop to learn more about how they can be part of positive change.
Thank you Bunnings and to everyone who volunteered, supported us and bought a sausage (or two!). Together, we are making a difference.

Today marks the beginning of Zonta Rose Month
March holds special meaning for Zontians around the world — it is Zonta Rose Month. Give a rose to celebrate a woman/girl. Share the message. Be part of the movement.
The yellow rose is the symbol of Zonta International. It represents friendship, encouragement and the support we extend to women and girls everywhere.
When we share a yellow rose, we are sending a powerful message: That women matter; That girls deserve opportunity; That leadership has no gender; That together we can build a better world
Throughout March, Zontians celebrate achievements, recognise women making a difference, and renew our commitment to advancing gender equality.
The yellow rose reminds us that change is strongest when women stand together — uplifting, empowering and advocating side by side.
