Hey Bashers, it’s almost time to hit the road!

Just a friendly reminder that all Provisions payments are due this Sunday!

Next week is a big one behind the scenes as we start confirming final numbers, locking everything in and making payments to the many suppliers who help make Bash happen.

⏰ If your Provisions are still outstanding, please make sure you get them sorted by Sunday. Unfortunately, after this date we can’t include anyone who hasn’t finalised their payment, as every spot we confirm comes with real costs attached, costs that we simply cannot wear as a charity.

Need a hand or need to chat through options? No worries at all, just reach out to the office before Friday so we can help.

👱‍♀️ Quick heads up, Lizy isn’t in on Fridays and Matt is currently on survey, so please don’t leave it until the last minute if you need anything.

One of the best parts of being part of the Variety QLD Motoring Events community is seeing the difference your fundraising makes.

Our Variety 4WD Adventurers may have already spotted this story in this month’s newsletter, but it’s too good not to share with everyone.



Thanks to a Variety Queensland Community Grant, 40 children were able to experience the inclusive Paralympic sport of boccia, building confidence, developing new skills and forming meaningful friendships along the way.

The grant funded boccia balls and adaptive equipment including ramps, hand pointers and head pointers, helping remove barriers to participation and ensuring children of all abilities could get involved.

“The Variety Grant made a significant difference for the children by enabling them to participate in boccia regardless of their physical abilities or financial circumstances,” said Boccia Australia.

For many children, it was their first opportunity to experience a Paralympic sport in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Together, we’re helping children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disabilities reach their full potential.

Our Variety Bashers go above and beyond in their fundraising efforts, and then there are those who take it to another level.

As part of the 2025 QLD Variety Bash, Car 350 smashed through the $100,000 fundraising milestone, officially earning Top Hat status.

A huge congratulations to The Blue Dogs / Blue Dog Training - RTO 31193: Brad Deas, Dani Rose, Matthew Lewis, Nick Campbell, Paul Wilkinson and Auriel Robinson. Raising more than $100,000 for children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disabilities is an extraordinary achievement, and one that will help create life-changing opportunities for kids across Queensland.

Let’s give a big shout out to these Top Hat legends!

2026 QLD Variety Bash: Innisfail 🚗🌴
We hope our Variety Bashers are getting excited – the countdown is on!

A quick reminder that registrations close 26 June, so if you know someone who’s been thinking about joining us for the adventure of a lifetime, now’s the time to give them a nudge!

As we get ready to roll into our start line town of Innisfail, here are three fascinating facts about the place where our 2026 journey begins:

1. The Art Deco Town That Refused to Stay Down
After a devastating cyclone in 1918 flattened much of the town, Innisfail rebuilt in bold Art Deco style – a character that still shines through today. Think pastel colours, geometric lines and plenty of old-school charm.

2. Australia’s Banana Capital
If you’ve eaten a banana in Australia, there’s a fair chance it came from around Innisfail. Thanks to its tropical climate and rich soil, the region produces a huge share of the country’s bananas.
Cyclones may knock crops around, but locals rebuild and keep going – tough country and even tougher people.

3. Gateway to Cassowary Country
Just outside town, you’ll find yourself in prime Southern Cassowary habitat. These prehistoric-looking birds roam nearby rainforests and coastal tracks and are part of what makes the region feel truly wild.

From tropical landscapes to iconic country towns, this year’s Bash is already shaping up to be something special.

This , we’re taking you back to one of the most meaningful stops of the 2026 Yamaha Variety Jet Trek.

Early in the Trek, our Jet Trekkers visited NRL Cowboys House in Townsville, where we saw firsthand the incredible impact being made for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women from some of Australia’s most remote communities.

NRL Cowboys House supports Indigenous students who relocate to Townsville for school, helping them settle into a new environment while building confidence, wellbeing and life skills for the future.

From education support and health programs to practical essentials like driver’s licences and employment readiness, the team at Cowboys House is helping these young women thrive.

We’re proud that our collective fundraising helps support the Girls Learning Centre – and even prouder to share this special insight into their amazing work.

Trekkers, this was one of those moments that reminded us exactly why we hit the water each year! 🌊

Some people quietly shape the heart of our motoring community for decades and this year we had the privilege of celebrating one of them.

At the recent 2026 Yamaha Variety Jet Trek, Warren Chapman was presented with a Variety International Presidential Citation, one of the highest honours in the Variety Family.

For nearly 30 years, Warren has been part of the fabric of Variety Queensland. From Bash Participant, 4WD Adventurer and Jet Trekker, to Board Member, Event Committee Member and Volunteer Official, he has worn many hats, always with generosity, dedication and an unwavering commitment to helping children across Australia.

Over the years, Warren has contributed more than 9,000 volunteer hours and helped raise more than $250,000 to support children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disabilities.

But ask anyone who knows Warren, and they’ll tell you it’s not the numbers that define him – it’s the way he quietly shows up, lends a hand, and helps bring our community together.

This recognition celebrates not only an extraordinary contribution, but the spirit of what it means to be part of the Variety Family.

Please join us in congratulating Warren on this incredibly well-deserved honour! 👏
