Clay Mates: Create for Community

Celebrate Seniors Month by discovering the joy of hand-building pottery in a relaxed and social environment.

Guided by experienced ceramic artists, participants will learn basic clay hand-building techniques while creating imaginative clay creatures. No prior pottery experience is required, just a willingness to get creative and have fun.

As part of this special intergenerational project, the clay creatures created during the workshop will be fired and donated to local kindergarten children, bringing joy and sparking imagination in young members of our community.

Enjoy the opportunity to:

- Learn introductory pottery hand-building techniques
- Connect with other seniors through a shared creative experience
- Support local children through a meaningful community art project
- Explore creativity in a welcoming and supportive setting

All materials are supplied. Please wear closed-in shoes and advise of any dietary requirements at registration.

A big thank you to everyone who participated! Your entries truly helped shine a spotlight on our Bundaberg Pottery Club and showcased the wonderful diversity and quality of our work. It’s heartwarming to see how much the community appreciates our contribution to this special event.

Narelle Lewis, our judge, thoughtfully explained her choices for the winners, which adds an extra layer of appreciation for the talent on display. We enjoyed a lovely Show luncheon together at The Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, sharing good food and good company.

A special shout-out to our kiln workers—you all did an amazing job getting everyone’s pieces finished on time for the competition. Your hard work made this possible!
