Brunswick Neighbourhood House invites you to the opening of Don’t See Me by comic artist Ras Koš.

Don’t See Me brings together local comics about belonging, resilience, quiet resistance, and the search for joy in the shadow of crisis. These works look closer when it’s polite to look away.

View original pages up close, gain insight into the process of making comics, and perhaps take a piece of it home.

📅 Friday 3 July, 6pm
📍 Brunswick Neighbourhood House, 43A De Carle Street, Brunswick
🎟 Free entry – Get your free ticket here https://events.humanitix.com/bnh-gallery-exhibition-opening-ras-kos-don-t-see-me

Artist in diaspora, Ras Koš is inspired by distance, wild places, and art that takes no hostages. Having worked in human rights and environmental advocacy in the Balkans and Australia, Ras is now making comics that inspire feelings of wonder and responsibility for our future.

This event is part of the BNH Gallery Exhibition Series, supporting local artists.

Thanks to our sponsors Co-Conspirators Brewing Co.

🌟 Join Our Board and Help Shape Stronger Communities

Brunswick Neighbourhood House and Fawkner Neighbourhood House are looking for passionate, community-minded people to join our Board or Board Subcommittees.

Whether you’re an experienced professional, an emerging leader, or simply someone who wants to give back and learn more about governance and community leadership, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Board Member or Subcommittee Member, you’ll have the opportunity to:

✅Make a real difference in your community
✅Learn how not-for-profit organisations operate
✅ Develop leadership and governance skills
✅ Expand your professional network
✅ Contribute your ideas, experience and perspective
✅ Help create opportunities for people to learn, connect and belong

No previous board experience is required. We welcome people from all backgrounds who are curious, willing to learn, and keen to contribute.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in finance and accounting, HR, legal and risk management, partnerships and fundraising, strategy and organisational development. But don’t let that list stop you. We also value lived experience, fresh perspectives, community connections, creativity, and a genuine interest in making a positive contribution.

Interested in learning more? Attend a Board meeting, explore a subcommittee role, or simply have a conversation with us—there’s no obligation, just an opportunity to connect and contribute.

🧵 Call Out for Sewing Machines & Supplies

Do you have a sewing machine in good working order that you’d like to donate to Brunswick Neighbourhood House to support our sewing classes?

We’re currently seeking reliable sewing machines for use in our sewing classes. If you have a machine to donate, please email a photo of it to [email protected]

As you can appreciate, we don’t have the capacity to service or repair older machines, so we’re specifically looking for machines that are already in good working condition.

We’d also love donations of sewing supplies such as thread and sewing pins.

If you have items to contribute, please get in touch ✨
