Can you volunteer for us this Saturday?

We are still needing to fill 3x Marshal positions.

Marshals provide a vital role providing on course direction, act as our eyes and ears out on course and phone the run director incase of any safety issues and provide encouragement to participants too!

So start this Saturday with lots of smiling and happy thankyous from participants.

Although no experience is needed for any of our roles, the marshal is a popular one for those who are newer to volunteering

This morning, 232 people joined us for Kirkdale Reserve event #211, running, jogging or walking our course by the Merri Creek.

There were 6 first times to parkrun (welcome!) and 35 further first time visitors to Kirkdale (again, welcome!). Congratulations to the 14 people who achieved personal bests.

Tomorrow our wonderful Run Director Maz, celebrates their 250th volunteer day!

Maz is truly a superstar volunteer, volunteering at 70 different locations and regularly volunteering on both Saturdays and Sundays at Junior parkrun, and completing a whopping total of 333 roles showing how often they show up for multiple roles in the same day. Their dedication is even more staggering when you realise they have only done 137 parkruns as a participant.

Some more volunteering stats:
- 22 distinct volunteer roles
- v-index of 15 (meaning they have done 15 of these roles at least 15 times!)
- most volunteers in a calender year = 78
- volunteer credits this year = 37
- volunteers at Kirkdale Reserve= 57

We love having Maz as part of our event team, they always stay cool under pressure and tries to make everyone feel welcome at our parkrun.

We look forward to giving Maz a big cheer tomorrow!
