Mid-winter Walk and Gawk 🐦
When: 10:30am - 12pm Sunday 21 June (this Sunday!)

Join the wallan wallan Regional Park Alliance for a morning of marvellous views and wonderful waterbirds on the shortest day of the year.

Begin the day with a warming walk up Green Hill to admire the views over the region, hearing more about the wallan wallan Regional Parkland.

Follow this with a visit to the wetlands of Wallara Waters, to look for waterbirds hosted by local bird experts.

Thankyou to Mitchell Shire Councillors for their support for the wallan wallan Regional Parkland.

In a unanimous vote last night, Mitchell Shire Council Councillors voted to in support of seeing the wallan wallan Regional Parkland realised by becoming a Supporting Organisation of the wallan wallan Regional Parkland Alliance.

The wallan wallan Regional Parkland Alliance welcomes Mitchell Shire Council's support and look forward to working together to see this important parkland become a reality for the current and future residents of the region! 🎉🐸🦋

The Urban Growth Boundary Exhibition showcases works responding to themes of urban expansion, landscape change, and the changing interface between rural and urban environments. The exhibition features works by renowned Wallan-based artist Paul Robinson, whose practice explores place, memory, and transformation within the local landscape

Join the Upper Plenty Merri Catchment Landcare Group (UPMCLG) and MCMC for a community litter clean up and citizen science litter audit. Be part of the solution as we remove litter from the Merri Creek and surrounds, and discuss future actions that should be taken to protect the Creek.

REGENERATING NATIVE VEGETATION TO MATCH THE ECOLOGY OF NATIVE FOREST.
On-farm workshop, with botanist Karl Just and BEAM Mitchell Environment Group

📍Landscape Rd, west of Tallarook Forest (address provided upon registration)

Botanist Karl Just will lead a workshop on farmland near the Tallarook Forest, showing us how to identify the typical local native flora, and how to encourage these to return to being a significant part of the landscape. Karl is a botanist and zoologist who has conducted flora surveys across the Tallarook Forest, and has over 20 years experience in the ecological industry.

This event is organised by Dabyminga Landcare and South West Goulburn Landcare Network as part of the Farm Blitz program (2025-26). The workshop is supported by BEAM Mitchell Environment Group, and is funded by the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority through the 2025-26 round of the Victorian Landcare Grants.

Frog-friendly Gardening - TONIGHT!
When: 7pm - 8pm, Thursday 28th May

FoMC Beveridge Environment Group presents Frog-friendly Gardening. Wildlife ecologist and frog expert David De Angelis will give a presentation about how to create a garden and frog pond that attracts frogs. David will also talk about the local frogs that live around Beveridge and the Upper Merri catchment.

Location: The Thomson Room at Club Mandalay, 430-450 Mandalay Circuit, Beveridge.
