On August 3, 2025, ATIA accomplished something we are truly proud of. Thanks to the invitation from MCCQ, Taiwanese Indigenous peoples had the opportunity to step onto the stage of Brisbane City Hall through the Cultural Fashion Showcase.
We are deeply grateful to the organizers for their support and this opportunity, which allowed ATIA to share Bunun songs and Amis dances with a wider audience. Through this event, more people came to learn that Taiwan is home to Indigenous peoples with rich and vibrant cultures.
Bunun song “From This Moment” – This is a song which elders pass down their wisdom to the younger generation. It teaches youth, as they leave their hometowns, to work diligently, treat others sincerely, and remember their roots. The performance also conveyed deep longing for home.
Amis dance “The Elder’s Drinking Song” – The song expresses reverence and gratitude for life and nature, and a yearning for unity and joyful living. The dance primarily showcases masculine strength and beauty, with the female dancers gracefully complementing the performance.
