What an incredible effort from St Teresa's Catholic College! πŸ’œ

Next week, Team STCC will travel to Brisbane to take part in , having already raised an amazing $11,051 to help prevent domestic and family violence.

A special shout-out to student Finley, who has personally raised more than $2,000 through the creation and sale of handcrafted wooden charcuterie boards at local markets. What an extraordinary example of initiative, generosity and commitment to the cause.

Through their β€˜Why We Run’ program, the St Teresa's Catholic College team continues to embrace the spirit of Darkness to Daylight, and show the impact that can be made when a community comes together behind an important cause.

Students have been learning about domestic and family violence prevention, respectful relationships, and how to contribute to cultures of safety and inclusion – alongside fundraising, community activities, awareness raising and advocacy.

Thank you to Mark Roberton, Belinda, Ronel, Matt, and all the students, staff, families and supporters who have made this incredible effort possible. We can’t wait to welcome you to Brisbane next week, and celebrate with you at Darkness to Daylight.

Every Darkness to Daylight donation helps Challenge DV create safer, more respectful communities through education, prevention and early intervention.

Preventing domestic and family violence starts long before a crisis. It starts in the places where we live, learn, work and play.

That's why Challenge DV works with schools, sporting clubs and community groups; powerful environments where culture is shaped.

Funds raised through Darkness to Daylight help Challenge DV:

🌟 Equip teachers, coaches, volunteers and community leaders with the skills and confidence to recognise, respond and refer when someone may be experiencing violence.

🌟 Strengthen policies, procedures and practices that support safe, respectful and inclusive environments

🌟 Provide practical resources and toolkits for schools, sporting clubs and community organisations

🌟 Deliver professional development that helps educators have safe, age-appropriate conversations about respectful relationships

🌟 Engage young people through customised programs that promote respect, equality and healthy relationships

🌟 Work alongside schools, clubs and community groups to create long-term cultural change

By investing in prevention, we're helping build communities where everyone can thrive, and giving the next generation the tools to create relationships built on safety, respect and belonging.

Ending domestic and family violence isn't just about responding to violence when it occurs. It's about breaking the cycles, and preventing violence from happening in the first place.
