Rebus Theatre for social change. Rebus is a member of Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres.

Rebus Theatre is made up of people with and without disabilities, developing creative performance projects, running theatre classes for people with and without disabilities, as well as delivering workplace training by performing scenarios based on the actors' lived experiences of discrimination and stigma. For the latter Rebus uses “forum theatre” which is a format allowing participants to interact with the actors and practise real life skills for the work place in a dignified, entertaining and non-threatening atmosphere.

Every young person deserves a space where they can be creative, feel welcome and have their voice heard. 💜

For LGBTQIA+ young people in Canberra, opportunities to connect with others, explore their interests and express themselves through the arts can make a meaningful difference.

That's why we created Acting Out.

Through theatre, filmmaking and collaborative storytelling, Acting Out brings LGBTQIA+ young people together to develop their creativity, build friendships and share stories that matter to them.

Today is GiveOUT Day, and we're asking our Canberra community to help us continue this work.

Your donation will support the future of Acting Out, helping Rebus Theatre create more opportunities for LGBTQIA+ young people to participate in inclusive arts programs.

One Dave wasn’t enough. Apparently. 👀

Still Here brings Dave Houston — and a few other versions of Dave — to the stage for a comedy about living with depression.

Blending comedy, storytelling, clowning and original live music, Still Here finds humour in a subject we don’t often associate with laughter.
