The carpark area near the exercise equipment at Bibra Lake has been a hotspot for illegal dumping and anti social behaviour and we are grateful to Cr Philip Eva JP for submitting a motion for investigation to the City for CCTV and resurfacing in this location.

The motion will be noted at Tuesday's council meeting with a future report to be prepared outlining potential works and costs.

There has been a significant amount of illegal dumping and anti social behaviour occurring near the carpark adjacent the exercise equipment at Bibra Lake over recent months.

You may have noticed a mobile CCTV camera deployed in the area at times over recent months, which has seen a reduction in incidents during deployments.

We are grateful that Cr Philip Eva JP has asked the City to look into a permanent camera in this location to help put a stop to the dumping, noting that each clean up has an approximate cost of $300.

If you would support this idea please leave a comment below!

The City of Cockburn have confirmed that works to complete phase one of the Bibra Lake Urban Road Safety Program have been scheduled across May and June, with early works and line markings already having commenced.

These works will see raised platforms installed at the two Parkway Rd/Bibra Drive roundabouts, raised pedestrian crossings near Bibra Lake Primary School on both Parkway Road and Annois Road as well as the intersection of Annois Road and Parkway Road.

Additionally, construction of 28 carparking bays will take place along Parkway Road near Bibra Lake Primary School and opposite treasured tots.

It is expected that some of these works will be completed out of hours or over weekends to minimise the disruption, especially around school drop off and pick up times.

Phase two of the Urban Road Safety Program focusing on Progress Drive and Gwilliam Drive on the Western side of Bibra Lake Reserve are planned to be completed in the new financial year.

Further details on each of the proposed traffic treatments are included in the comments.
