Thank you to Friends of the Community, for the generous donation of $2000 to Cockburn BMX. Through the generosity of Friends of the Community, we’re able to purchase specialised BMX equipment for our rapidly increasing member base. The mini wheeler (balance bike) start ramp in the posted image, was borrowed from Westside BMX, when Cockburn hosted round 7 of the 2025 WA State BMX Racing Series. It’s equipment such as this or riding or timing equipment that Cockburn BMX will be able to provide to our members, through the generosity of Friends of the Community.

Friends of the Community were recently awarded “Volunteer Organisation of the Year” at the City of Cockburn Volunteer Awards Night and it is well deserved. They are a not-for-profit organisation, staffed entirely by volunteers and seek to assist the community through volunteer training and fund raising for schools, sports clubs and community groups.

Many thanks to Norm, Serena and the entire team at Friends of the Community for supporting Cockburn BMX.

Sharing some photos from our wonderful mid-year get-together with friends. It was a lovely opportunity to catch up, enjoy good company, and take a well-earned break from our busy schedules.

We were treated to a delicious feast featuring roast chicken and beef, accompanied by an assortment of roasted vegetables and fresh salads. The meal was topped off with an impressive selection of desserts. Annie once again delighted everyone with her famous trifle, while we also enjoyed homemade apple pies served with custard and tasty cinnamon tarts.

These gatherings are always something to look forward to. They provide a chance to relax, share stories and laughter, and strengthen the friendships that mean so much to us. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a memorable and enjoyable occasion. We are already looking forward to our next get-together.

Tuesday night RACE schedule at Cockburn:
4:30pm: Track closed to public
5:30pm: Nominations open
5:40pm - 6:10pm: Mini wheelers racing
5:50pm - 6:20pm: New riders only practice
6:20pm - 7:00pm: Open practice
6:50pm - Nominations close
7:05pm - Racing

Club nights are run entirely by volunteers. If you can if you are able lend a hand, we’re very appreciative of your help. You will go in to the end of year $500 volunteer raffle.

2 x New rider assistants
1 x Cleaner (vacuum carpets - end of night)

Tuesday Race $8
Tuesday Mini Wheelers $5

HIRE EQUIPMENT FOR NEW RIDERS:
Race bikes, helmets, gloves and race wear are available to hire for $5 for the full package per night. You will need to sign up for a free 4 week Auscycling BMX trial licence before hitting the track.
