Providing some serious competition to Mick in our Shed kitchen, on Thursday 7th May the Master Chef for the day, David Azzam ably assisted by Sous Chef Mick, produced a magnificent lunch of the Middle Eastern dish of Maqluba, both vegetarian and chicken versions. This was complimented by a homemade chilli sauce that just hit the spot.
No-one could believe that the amount of vegetables and rice that were used would distill down to two large pots of deliciousness. After an hour and a half of preparation and 45 minutes of cooking, it took just 20 minutes for 15 shed members demolised it!
Very many thanks to David and Mick for producing such a wonderful lunchtime treat and adding to all our waistlines!

The day before "Star Wars" day (May 4th), the Shed once again took part in the Roleystone Market. Apart from the chilling fog and cutting wind early on, It proved to be a very successfull market. This was helped by being well supported by the members throughout the day to man the stalls. Many thanks to all those who took part, but now we have to start replenishing our stock! All bright ideas for new and interesting items considered!

Saturday 25th April (ANZAC Day) we had a guest speaker at the Shed, Darren Hicks from Heart4Hearts.
Darren explained how Hearts4Hearts help provide targeted support, education and advocacy for those living with heart disease, and to provide education to help eliminate preventable strokes, deaths and suffering for people living with heart disease.
Although this was Darren's first talk as an ambassador, and we were a little short handed due to the ANZAC long weekend the members enjoyed the talk. This was followed by inviting Darren to join us afterwards at our monthly bbq. Thanks Darren.

Today we were treated to our resident Chef Michael's Vegetarian curry. And it was delicious!
Mick's curry was enjoyed by 17 members as an early lunch, the ingredients being provided by the Shed. Aided by his trusty sidekick Ian, the curry was made complete with rice, mango chutney, popadoms, and chilli flakes (for those who like it really hot).
It was also great to see Keith back onboard after his nasty fall last week. You can't keep a good man down!

Hugh Jones MLA visited our Shed this morning to see the new bandsaw which was purchased through the election commitment arranged by Hugh. Aspects of the new machine are being demonstrated by Ian Hunter and Henry Zelones.

Earlier in the morning we had the pleasure of a training demonstration by Graham MacKellar, Men's Sheds of WA new Shed Development Officer, on setting up a bandsaw and how to operate it safely.
