Mundaring Mumma Village Circle is this Wednesday 26th July from 9.30-noonish 🧡 our topic is taking charge of your own self care as Mothers.

As usual we are planning for wet weather and hoping we get surprised by sunshine, either way we will enjoy our conversations whether they are out in the trees or cozy on the floor in the kitchen 🌧️

Please message us if you plan on coming so that we know who to expect (and for the address if you haven’t been to our Circle in Mundaring before) 🌳

What to bring? Picnic blanket (and a cushion if you like), morning tea for yourself and your babes and a piece of fruit to add to our fruit platter for the kiddos. I’ll put on pots of tea and coffee 🫖

I’ll make a few batches of fresh play dough for the kids.

As always, we look forward to sitting in Circle, sharing and bearing witness to each other as the incredible women and mothers we aren’t 🥰

We had planned our next Circle for this Wednesday the 19th but unfortunately we are yet again all really unwell 🤧 so need to reschedule to the following Wednesday the 26th July. Sending lots of love to all the other mummas dealing with winter bugs 🦠 May your snot run clear and your tissues be aloe vera soft 😅

Thank you to the beautiful mummas who came with their little humans this morning for a play and chat 🥰 it feels so good to share our space. Next Circle will be Wednesday 19th July as we are having a short break. In the mean time - if you need anything, just reach out 🧡

Our next Circle is tomorrow June 21st from 9.30am to noonish!

We are planning for wet weather 🌧️ which means I’m going to trial a makeshift circle in my kitchen 🤪 with a play dough station on the table, some drawing on a huuuuge roll of craft paper and lots of building blocks to occupy our wild ones inside 🫣

But if the sun shines we will absolutely move outdoors so bring your little ones bike/trike/scooter (+helmet) if you like (Sunny would love to have races around his ‘road’ down the back 🚲 swipe to see him zooming around it 😝) and a change of clothes in case it suddenly downpours 💦 it’ll likely be quite damp so gumboots never go astray up here 🥾

Please park on the verge out the front or across the road and down a little next to Sculpture Park 🚙

Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow 🧡

Mundaring Mumma Village Circle is this Wednesday 7th June from 9.30-noonish 🧡 our topic is Mumma’s Intuition ✨

Last fortnight we planned for wet weather and we’re delighted by sunshine 🌞 I’m not sure we will be so lucky this week but I’m leaning into the chaos and know we will enjoy our conversations whether they are out in the trees or cozy on the floor in the kitchen 🌧️

If anyone coming has the time to make some play dough to share that would be wonderful. It was a hit last time but ended up squished into the grass 😅 I’ll try make a batch too.

As always, we look forward to sitting in Circle, sharing and bearing witness to each other as the incredible women and mothers we are 🥰

At our Circle today we talked all things perfectionism and finding compassion for self in motherhood. Lots of mummas feeling over anxious and self critical… so much healing and softening of our inner voices. A few of us shared that Yara’s Life After Birth podcasts have really shifted some heavy feelings for us. This is the amazing podcast about the power of AND in our motherhood journeys.

Listen to this episode from Life After Birth with Yara Heary on Spotify. In this episode of seeds for your garden, I discuss the power of the word "AND", and how it can help us access greater self-compassion and reduce guilt and shame in our mothering journey. Happy Mother’s Day to our Mumma Village Circle community 🧡

As mothers - we often don’t just raise our babies, sometimes we are gifted the opportunity to raise each other… in searching for and creating a village of women to connect with, we have found that we take turns raising each other up and offering unconditional love and guidance, seeing past and future versions of ourselves as mothers in each other.

We find a way to pour our hearts and souls into nourishing each other the way we needed nourishing ourselves and so also receivie healing and fullness in our giving to each other as women and mothers.

Feeling so grateful to all the women who have mothered us on our mumma journeys so far 🙏

So much love to you all - we can’t wait to be reunited and share lots of cuppas, hugs, tears and laughter in the coming weeks at our Circles ✨

To all the other mummas with wakeful babes, I see you and feel you. Currently in the thick of it with wakeful baby 2.0 😅 Tessa

I met an earlier version of myself at a toddler group once. A mum of a nine-month-old.

She had a certain look in her eye that felt familiar. She sat in her tiredness the way I used to, and so I gravitated toward her.

I introduced myself and we engaged in small talk. She soon revealed that her daughter wakes every hour and has since birth.

I talked about Casey's wakefulness and she looked visibly surprised, relieved even. She said she'd only met one other mum with a similarly wakeful baby.

Boy did I know that feeling. The isolation of being the one with the non-sleeping baby. The one that felt like other mums only liked to talk to me because it made them feel like they were winning. The one who clearly didn't get the memo on day one at the hospital. The one who came to doubt every decision she ever made or didn't make.

I remembered myself nine months in. Casey growing stronger and more vibrant by the day. And me, depleted in body and soul and feeling detached. Stuck inside a cloud.

I told her she was doing an amazing job and that it's bloody hard.

They say you forget the sleep deprivation, just as you forget your pregnancy symptoms and labour pains. I don't think I ever truly will and I'm now forever attuned to other mums who are currently "in it" and want them to know that they are seen, that their child's sleep is not reflective of them as a mother and that they will sleep again. Well, in four-hour blocks at least.

It’s also feeling like the time to restart our Mumma Village Circle in the Hills 🌳✨

We are so excited to begin hosting our Mundaring Circle on Wednesday 24th of May from 9.30am until noon-ish 🌞

Topic for the Circle starting around 10.30am is Perfectionism and Compassion in Motherhood💛

Please send us a message to let us know you’re coming and for the address if you need it.

We have missed this space so much, but it felt really difficult to give so much when going through each of our own challenging motherhood journeys in the second half of 2022.

We are re-jigging things a little to help our Circle feel more sustainable as I am newly emerging from my postpartum bubble with baby Finley.

So, please bring a picnic blanket/cushion and morning tea for yourself/little ones and a piece or two of chopped fruit to add to our sharing fruit platter for the kiddos. I’ll keep the kettle boiled and have simple tea/coffee to share with cows/almond milk. Donations welcome but not necessary 🙏

We have a little bike trail out the back that Sunny has been zooming around on - so feel free to bring along a bike/trike if your babe likes a ride around.

If the weather is poorly 🌧️ I’m in negotiations with my husband about us commandeering the front porch so we can be cozy and under cover.

Hills MVC Circles are hoped to be held fortnightly on Wednesdays, with dates looking like the 7th June, 21st June, little break at the start of July and then resuming from the 19th July.

I’m so so SO excited to see you all again - old and new faces alike… all mummas are welcome in our space (no matter the age of your babe) you deserve to be seen and held by a village of women, this journey can feel mighty lonely at times, but it doesn’t have to be that way 🧡

Love Tessa
