With just 28 DAYS to go, Bathurst Old Boys got together last Sunday to prepare for the big dance on 26th September 2026. As can been seen by our Action Training photos we are taking the day very seriously and are looking forward to any challengers to the crown! Come one come ALL!

JUST 45 SLEEPS TO GO!!!!!

Sadly its a long time between drinks (and playing rugby) with Eastwood Charcoals over 35's Rugby Union Club Day not happening (we were prepared to sell from our mobile licencing unit known as the bus). But the great news is Bathurst Gala is on! With over 20+ teams and three fields, it will once again been a full day of rugby.

Friday starts, with thanks to the Hexagon Rugby Boys and for those who can make it, GOLF! Tee Off is 12:30 at The Bathurst Golf Club (details shortly). Footy boots however are not expectable footwear!

Friday Night is our traditional meet n greet at The Tattersalls Hotel from 6pm. there will finger food from 7. We have told Carso to close the bar at a respectable hour so you can all be fresh and bright Saturday, except the Wallopers Rugby - Australian Police Golden Oldies !🤣🤣🤣

Saturday Night is back to the Tatts, where once again the whole pub is ours! The new beer garden is now open allowing us more room. A Gala Day menu has been created to avoid long waits and quick delivery (will put up shortly). There will also be a Can Bar out back so as you can rehydrate quicker! There be plenty of music, laughs and probably spilt beer.

In the words of the greatest referee with hair on his knee, Adam, just bring one extra person than last year!

The Fools Fest organised by the ACT Vets was, as always awesome. Welcome to the newly formed Spartans team. Made up of Military Veterans, they were great on the field and even better off. Their sponsors VETCOMP brought water for everyone. Apparently it comes from the bowels of a volcano and we lava’d it. First ‘training’ run last Thursday! Temperature was 40’ but the beer after was 4’. A lot of wd40 needed to get us going. Look forward to catching up with everyone on and off the field in 2026.

For those who know golden oldies rugby and the steep history Bathurst has in both seniors and oldies, it sad to announce the parting of one the greats who helped establish Golden Oldies Rugby in Bathurst as well as his commitment to grade rugby in the city.

Farewell Robert "Hoddo" Hodgson.

He, like all of us couldn't tackle, run or pass but loved to have a beer with his mates after the game telling the story of how good he was on the field🤣🤣🤣.

The legend will live on!
