True support means giving people a choice. šŸ¤ā¤ļø

We are proud to stand alongside The Family Centre, an organisation that has spent over 35 years supporting children, youth, and families across the Tweed region. We are funding their Food Vouchers Initiative, which distributes flexible vouchers to be used directly at the Murwillumbah Food Hub.

Through this choice-based model, families and young people navigating financial crisis, housing instability, or domestic violence can step into the Food Hub and select the specific groceries that match their household's dietary and cultural needs. It's a beautiful approach that champions community dignity, fosters independence, and significantly reduces food waste. Thank you to the team at The Family Centre for making crisis support an empowering experience.

It’s tough to focus on building a future when you're focusing on an empty stomach. šŸ„šŸ“š

We are incredibly proud to partner with Lord's Taverners Northern NSW to support the expansion of their TAFE Breakfast Program across six regional North Coast campuses—Lismore, Casino, Ballina, Wollongbar and Byron Bay. Faced with rising living costs, many students are forced to choose between fuel to get to class and proper nutrition. This program removes that barrier by offering free, self-serve breakfast items with no questions asked, ensuring ultimate privacy and dignity.

By securing a healthy start to the day, this initiative helps these students improve concentration, boost classroom engagement, and successfully fast-track their way into the workforce. Join us in celebrating the incredible work they do for regional education!

The final countdown: Supporting food security in the Northern Rivers. ā³

There are just three days left to submit your application for The Seaton Foundation’s Food Security grant round.

We’ve already seen some incredible, heart-led projects coming through the portal. If your organisation is working to ensure our local families have access to healthy, nutritious food, we don't want you to miss out.

A final checklist for your application:

- Is it practical? We love seeing specific line items in your budget—tell us exactly how the grant funds will be used.
- Is it local? Remember, these grants are specifically for DGR-1 not-for-profits serving the Northern Rivers NSW region.
- Is it clear? Don’t worry about fancy "grant-speak." Just tell us your story and the impact you plan to make.

Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM this Friday, 1 May 2026.

Thinking of applying for a food security grant? Here are 3 tips to help your application shine! ✨

We want to make our funding as accessible as possible. If you’re drafting your application for our Food Security round, keep these tips in mind:

Keep it straightforward: You don't need "grant-writer" talk. Just tell us what you’re doing, who it helps, and how the money will be spent.

Be specific with your budget: Instead of a round number, show us the breakdown (e.g., $1,200 for a freezer, $600 for seeds). It helps us see exactly how the magic happens!

Show your community connection: We love to support organisations that truly know the people they serve.

Reminder: Grants of $5,000 – $25,000 are available for Northern Rivers NFPs.

Apply by 1 May at https://form.jotform.com/260912184214047.

Our hybrid van, Don, has had a few false starts, but he’s ready to put himself out there again.

He’s looking for someone who’s happy to take the wheel, show up consistently, and help him get to and from shift. All it takes to tick his boxes is an Aussie driver’s licence, a few hours a fortnight, and a willingness to be part of something that really matters.

No experience needed. No awkward small talk. Just you, the road, and a shared commitment to bringing laundry and connection to people doing it tough.

Sound like you? Register to volunteer today, or contact us with your interest to become a van driver - you might be Don's perfect match 🧔

Helping our community thrive, one meal at a time. šŸŽ

The Seaton Foundation’s next grant round is officially here!

We are excited to announce that this funding round focuses specifically on Food Security in the Northern Rivers.

We know that for many people and families in our region, reliable access to nutritious food is not a given. We also know that the local groups doing something about it are often under-resourced. This grant round is designed to change that by supporting practical, direct-impact work.

What we are funding:
We are looking for projects that make a real difference on the ground, such as:
- Community Meals: Regular breakfast, lunch, or dinner programs.
- Food Pantries: Setting up or expanding low-cost food hubs.
- Community Gardens: Increasing equitable access to fresh food.
- Capacity Building: Resources and training for your vital volunteers.
- Food Rescue: Local initiatives that redirect surplus food to those in need.

The Essentials:

šŸ’° Grants: Between $5,000 and $25,000 are available.

šŸ“ Eligibility: Not-for-profit organisations with DGR-1 status based in the Northern Rivers NSW.

šŸ—“ļø Key Dates:

- Applications Open: Today, 7 April 2026
- Applications Close: 1 May 2026 (5pm)
- Outcomes Announced: 29 May 2026

We’ve kept our application process straightforward because we want you to stay focused on the incredible work you do.
