Good to see the Cemetery Trust is rebuilding Tilly Thompson’s grave at the Old Cemetery. Tilly is one of our true heroes as she was the driving force and inspiration who lead the Lucas Girls to raise the funds to build the Arch of Victory and the Avenue of Honour.
The grave is along the row closest to Creswick Road almost at the Pisgah Street end.

That's just a small part of the fascinating story of the SS Great Britain, "the ship that changed the world."

The sun set (literally) on a chapter of Ballarat's history this week with the demolition of the old BTV6 studios. A sad day for anyone involved in the pioneering days of television production. The old adage of "if only these walls could talk" rings especially true as many Ballarat residents grew up watching the only 2 channels we could get - 6 or 3. BTV punched above its weight for a regional television service with quality news, entertainment and sport programs. Six Tonight is but one example of the productions created within the walls of those studios showcasing local, national and international talent. What are your memories of BTV6?
