On 5 October 2026, walkers will come together at Uluru to walk with Everald, while local walks take place in communities across Australia.
Whether you're travelling to Uluru or joining a local walk, we'd love you to be part of it.

🚨 LAST CALL FOR LOCAL WALK LEADERS!
We’re still looking for enthusiastic people to lead Walk in the Spirit walks in their own communities on 5 October 2026.
Could you bring together a group of friends, family, colleagues or your local community?
You don't need to organise a huge event. Choose a suitable walking route, gather your people and help create a meaningful day of walking, connection and giving.
Applications to become a Local Walk Team Leader close tomorrow - 3 September.
If you've been thinking about getting involved, this is your last chance to put your hand up!

The portrait of me was painted by a good friend for my 90th birthday when I raised $35000 for DorcasACTS which is the caring and sharing community service of my local church, the Aspley Uniting Church. On my 95th I intend to treble that figure so that DorcasACTS can expand its good work of making .....

Local walks are being organised around Australia, giving you the opportunity to join with family, friends, colleagues and your community. Find a local walk near you, register and start getting ready for 5 October 2026. Don't have a local walk in your area? You can even start one yourself by becoming a Local Walk Team Leader.

We're looking for people who can gather family, friends, colleagues or community groups and lead a local walk on 5 October 2026. You don't need to organise a huge event. On 5 October 2026, we’ll come together at Uluru for the 11km Walk in the Spirit and we'd love to see you there.

The Walk in the Spirit journey begins long before 5 October.

Whether you're walking the full 11km around Uluru with Everald Compton or taking part in a local community walk, a little preparation now will help you enjoy the day even more.

Start with regular walks close to home, gradually increase your distance, and invite family or friends to train with you. It's a great way to improve your fitness while preparing for a meaningful event that supports Australians experiencing crisis.

Remember, it's not about walking fast. It's about walking together with purpose.
Every step you take between now and October brings you one step closer to making a difference. Start training today!
