‘Cold humanity is our concern, people caring about other people.’ In 1992 Wrap with Love began with the idea to help as many people as possible by providing warm Wraps to ward off hypothermia. 75 countries, including Australia, with the help of our hardworking and generous volunteers. Most of us can knit and sew. Just one square provides one twenty-eighth of warmth, and collectively, twenty-eight assembled squares create one whole warm and sheltering Wrap.

We had wraps and squares coming in and going out today. ReLove again collected 200 wraps and we packed 100 for Youth Insearch; a national NFP organisation supporting young people aged 12 - 25 through peer-led programs and weekend workshops. They provide a “Love Wrap” to every young person attending for the first time explaining that it is theirs to keep as a source of comfort plus a reminder that there are people who care about them.

The weather was beautiful in Alexandria yesterday at the warehouse and we received 68 beautiful wraps from Dubbo and quite a few from Manly Library. There was also a constant stream of Sydneysiders dropping off wraps.

A beautiful, sunny day in Sydney today! We took delivery of 171 wraps (93 from Ryde library and 63 from Narellan library.) As for squares: 1,268! Of those, 693 were from Narellan library and 236 from Durham Green Retirement Village. Our thanks to everyone. Do please take the time to read the letter posted with the photos. It’s really heartening to get such lovely feedback from all your wonderful, hard work. Last but not least, it seems not everyone managed to read the Annual Bulletin sent by email last week. If you go back to the email and scroll down a little, you will see a green rectangular box saying: Download Bulletin. Just click on that box and it will magically appear.

On a cloudy, dull day it’s always lovely to receive some beautifully designed wraps with some very skilled stitch work.
We had two large pickups - one by Good360 who will distribute wraps throughout Australia and the other by Pastor Aris Robetto from Glocal Impact Mission. These wraps are heading for the Phillippines. One of our volunteers picked up a car load of wraps from the knitters of Cox's Road, Ryde Sydney. We had another delivery all the way from New Zealand! A bundle of squares were also delivered that were knitted by staff and the patients awaiting treatment in a cancer centre in western Sydney. As always a big thank you from WWL.

As you can see by the photos we had some beautiful wraps come in. Can you believe that the knitted wrap (in the photo with the crocheted one) was delivered to us personally by the maker and she lives in Victoria! Now that’s dedication! Oh and this week our Annual Bulletin was emailed or posted - there are some lovely stories and we really hope you enjoy reading it. If you didn’t receive one and would like to, please get in touch and put yourself on the list for next time.

Not many deliveries today but what we did get was two very large ones. Penrith sent over 600 squares and lots of wraps and squares that had been delivered to Bennet's Green Spotlight. We also received a heart warming message from Oberon Lifechurch care, Op shop and food pantry, it did bring a little tear to our eyes. Ballina Library had a very successful knit with many local agencies attending. Please let Wwl know if you are having a function so we can promote it on the Wraps with Love website. Well worth a look if never have. As also some lovely wraps received today.

Not too busy at WWL today which was fine as we were a bit light on volunteers too, which is most unusual! We did take in 59 wraps and 512 squares. Inverell Library was responsible for a lot of these. Thank you all. Just a quick reminder that Ukraine would love some knitted hot water bottle covers should anyone feel so inclined. They will go out with Ukraine’s November delivery of another thousand wraps. This is a one off request only!

There weren’t a lot of deliveries but, as you can see, the wraps that did arrive are really beautiful and creative. There were three pickups for BoysTown in Fiji; Life Church in Oberon and GAPP (Glebe Assistance Partnership Program).

Today we had 261 wraps and 230 squares delivered. Concord Library is responsible for 17 of the wraps and 182 squares; Rotary Club, Taree helped us out with 117 wraps. Thank you all who sent in your lovely work. When you see today’s photos I should mention that one of our wonderful volunteers sadly broke her ankle and, whilst recuperating, finished off a couple of wraps and completed 3 of her own (photos 3, 4 & 5) A great job Ros when you’re forced to put your feet up!
