OzHarvest Market Based on a 'take what you need, give if you can' philosophy, the Waterloo market provides nourishing food to those in need.

The Market is located 95 Wellington St, Waterloo and is open Monday to Saturday – from 10am – 2pm. The OzHarvest Market is Australia’s first ever rescued food supermarket, stocked with produce that has either been donated or would otherwise go to waste, but is perfectly edible. Based on a ‘take what you need, give if you can’ philosophy, our purpose is to make rescued food available to everyone, e

specially those who need it most. In response to the rising need for food relief across Sydney and thanks to funding from the City of Sydney, the OzHarvest Market Waterloo opened in July 2020. To ensure there is enough food for everyone, we ask customers to respect the “take what you need, give if you can” philosophy, whilst being guided by our volunteers. There is a limited number of items per customer to ensure food is fairly distributed throughout the community. The OzHarvest Market Waterloo is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am – 2pm.

The Community Hair Project team are bringing joy to Waterloo Market, offering free haircuts to our community members twice a month.

Anna, one of their incredible hairdressers, has been volunteering her time for over three years. Thanks to her top-notch skills, she can give 15 fresh haircuts in just two hours.

“Everyone’s very appreciative, and they look forward to seeing me. They walk away with a big smile,” Anna shares.

We’re so grateful to Anna, Justine and the Community Hair Project for generously providing this service. They aren’t just giving haircuts – they're providing dignity and spreading love.
