A very interesting day was had at the Wirraminna native garden in Burrumbuttock today. Following a tour of the garden led by Sue, we made our way to the seed propagation area and listened to Judy explain the growing and subsequent seed collection process. We assisted by planting numerous chocolate lilies, used stockings to collect seeds and completed some well needed watering.
Welcome to our newest members Paul and Cathy.

A very interesting morning was held at the Seed Bank in Lavington today. We are grateful to Chris, Lenore and Sandy for explaining the process of collecting native seeds across the region and the subsequent cleaning grading and treatment of the seed to ensure the highest quality of seed is distributed to their customers. The facility is still in its infancy but there are big plans ahead.

Last week we held our meeting in the lovely surroundings of a member's garden.

Gardens come in all shapes & sizes, in town and out of town. Some are all native, some are all indigenous, some are a mix of exotics and native. All are individual, unique and a valuable resource for birds, animals, reptiles and insects.

If you would like more information, or woukd like to join the local group, please email the Secretary:
