Creating a garden that’s beautiful, resilient and supports native wildlife doesn’t require a big backyard!

At our recent Biodiversity and pollinator-friendly workshop, we shared simple, practical tips for making any outdoor space more wildlife-friendly. Afterwards, everyone put their new knowledge into action by planting native species at the Cheltenham Community Centre.

Great to see such a strong turn out at the Walkerville Energy Forum last month! Community members joined us to explore practical pathways toward cleaner smarter and more affordable energy.

The event was run by the Australian Conservation Foundation Community Adelaide and supported by Walkerville Rotary Club, Electrify Adelaide, Walkerville RSL, and the Town of Walkerville.

Exhibits included residential batteries, inverters, EV chargers and induction cooking demos.

Thanks to the following organisations for your insightful presentations:
💡 Flow Power highlighting their success in bringing eight eastern suburbs councils together under a single renewable supply contract
💡 Town of Walkerville sharing local initiatives and energy planning
💡 SA Power Networks discussing innovation and grid readiness
💡 Solar Power Direct outlining the benefits of solar, batteries and VPP
💡 Electrify Adelaide advocating for all-electric homes and communities
💡 Alexandra Fry from Adelaide home energy assessors discussing energy opportunities for renters
💡 Heather Smith GAICD from the Coalition for Community Energy talking all things rental and strata solutions
💡And last but not least, Mission Possible presented about the recent hot water electrification case study we have assisted with at The Watson apartment building.

Events like this show how collaboration between councils, community groups, industry and residents can accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
