NEWS FLASH! We’re filming a promo video at this session. Young people who’d like to be on camera are welcome to join in. A parent or guardian will need to sign a media consent form, which we’ll have on the day. Anyone who’d rather not be filmed can still come along and enjoy fishing as usual..

Join us for Blue Lures Somerset at Cormorant Bay this Saturday 17th October from 9am till midday.
Come along for a great morning by the water with local young people, police and community. If you have your own fishing gear, please bring it along. If not, we will supply rods, tackle and bait. We’d love to see you there!
A big thank you to everyone who helps make programs like this possible and supports positive connections in the Fernvale community.

Another fantastic Blue Lures day in Cairns, bringing young people, police and the community together through fishing, mentoring and plenty of fun.
Blue Lures is all about creating positive, informal opportunities for young people to spend time with local police, learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors and build trust and connections.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible, particularly Queensland Police Service, Anaconda Stores for supporting our fishing gear, and Tweed Bait for keeping our young anglers supplied with bait. Your support helps us continue creating these experiences for young people across Queensland. 💙🎣 Thank you again to everyone involved on the day – our police, volunteers, supporters and, most importantly, the young people who got involved and gave it a go! 💙

🎣 Blue Lures Upper Ross – More Than Just Fishing! 🎣
The Blue Lures Upper Ross program is going from strength to strength! Running twice a week, the program is giving local young people the opportunity to get outdoors, learn new fishing skills and, most importantly, build positive relationships with police, mentors and each other.
These regular sessions are about so much more than catching fish. Blue Lures uses fishing to help build confidence, teamwork, trust and a sense of belonging, while providing young people with a safe and positive environment to connect. Blue Lures Facilitators Manual
And judging by these photos, there have been some pretty impressive catches along the way! 🎣👏
A huge thank you to Anaconda Storess for supporting Blue Lures with fishing equipment and Tweed Baited Bait for helping keep the hooks baited. Your support helps make days like these possible.
We also gratefully acknowledge the Kickstarter Youth Justice funding supporting the delivery of Blue Lures at Upper Ross and helping us provide ongoing opportunities for these young people.
💙 Twice a week. New skills. Positive connections. Great memories.

Awesome 🤩

🎣 No fish? No worries!

While the fish weren’t biting at Blue Lures over the weekend, Sergeant Baker was busy reeling in new connections with local young people.

A few bites, plenty of laughs and lots of community connection; now that’s what we call a reel good day! 😎

🎣 Blue Lures Somerset – Cormorant Bay ☀️

What a beautiful morning for Blue Lures Somerset at Cormorant Bay on Saturday, 29 August!

With a sunny 23°C morning, the conditions were just about perfect. We had a few fish biting, but unfortunately none made it all the way to shore! 🎣😄

Fish or no fish, it was a fantastic morning outdoors and, most importantly, a great opportunity to welcome some new faces, have a chat and enjoy time together in the community.

A big thank you to Anaconda Stores and Tweed Bait for their continued support of Blue Lures and helping us get young people outdoors and involved. 💙
