was formed in the year 2000, when the white coat was a disqualifying colour in the GSD breed standard in most countries and it was actively recommended any White Coated Shepherds be culled from German Shepherd breeding stock. Most if not all White Shepherds by this stage where unable to be ANKC main registered under the colour white, breeders who wished to continue on with the white coat colour wh

ere forced to do so without the benefit of ANKC registration or papers. As the popularity of internet communication steadily grew and it became easier for localised White Shepherd breeders and owners to began reaching out to each other, the need for a national organisation dedicated to the preservation of the White Coated Shepherds became apparent. The White Shepherd Association began with the help and support of two early clubs, the Friends of White Shepherd Club of South Australia - Ms Jo Van Dokkum, and The White German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria run by Ms Jaquie Cunningham from the 1970's through to the 1980's. registered the name the White Swiss Shepherd Dog Club of Australia, adopting the White Swiss Shepherd breed standard. This action was inline with progress made Overseas, where the FCI and its member bodies accepted the White Swiss Shepherd breed (country of origin Switzerland) through the use of a development registers bringing together the locally bred White Shepherds and disenfranchised White German Shepherds. The decision to adopt the White Swiss Shepherd breed standard over eight years ago has ensured that the Australian dogs have continued to develop along with their European counterparts, allowing many WSSDCA registered dogs to be exported and re-registered as FCI White Swiss Shepherds. To this day the White Swiss Shepherd Dog Club of Australia continues to register without discrimination White German Shepherds, White Shepherds and White Swiss Shepherds. The WSSDCA would like to acknowledge and thank both current and past committee members who have helped shape the Club into the organisation it is today!

Thanks to all the wonderful people that have inquired about Ralph. He has found his new family and hopefully will settle in smoothly with lots of love and cuddles.

🐾🏠Ralph is looking for a new family to love. He is a happy, healthy 4 year old desexed male in the Melbourne area. If you are in the area and wish to be considered for his new family please message the club via Messenger link.

A note from Ralph's family-
Due to significant changes in our family circumstances, including ongoing health challenges within our household and increased caring responsibilities for our three children, we have made the heartbreaking decision to find Ralph a new forever home.

This is not a decision we've made lightly. Ralph is family.

Ralph's favourite thing in the world is simply being around his people. Whether you're in the kitchen, watching TV, working in the garden or relaxing on the couch, he'll happily be nearby keeping you company.

He loves:

🐾 Being part of family life
🐾 Walks and exploring new smells
🐾 Playing tug-of-war
🐾 Belly rubs and affection
🐾 Using his incredible nose

One of Ralph's favourite games since he was young is hide-and-seek. We'd show him a teddy bear, ask him to wait, then hide it somewhere around the house. Ralph would use his nose to track it down, proudly bringing it back to claim his reward.

His dad was an Australian Champion Tracking Dog, and Ralph has certainly inherited that incredible nose.

White Swiss Shepherds are known for their loyalty, intelligence and strong bonds with their families, and Ralph is no exception.We're looking for a home that can offer him:

ON HOLD….REHOME 🏡 REQUIRED: Blackie/Baxter is a sweetnatured, gentle pure bred Swiss Shepherd (4 years old). He is unsure of himself but wonderful with children and adults. He thrives in a no-dog household where he can be showered with affection and given gentle guidance. He may also do well with a confident, accepting dog. Blackie is submissive to other dogs in the house and a little unsure of unfamiliar dogs in public. He is not aggressive or reactive,just soft and a bit neurotic.

He is not fixed and has his papers (WSSDCA). Currently in Wynumm, Brisbane QLD.

Happy to have a trial period and want to ensure he goes to a loving home, where he can be provided the correct environment.
