Some collaborations just flow; no overthinking, no forcing, just pure connection.

This is what happens when the right musicians find each other: ideas move faster, the energy feels lighter, and the music speaks for itself ✨

Drum roll please… 🥁

Introducing the third edition of Sounds of Now Vienna (SONV) 2026!

From August 3–14, 2026, Vienna once again becomes a hub for the creation and performance of new music. SONV is a festival dedicated to emerging composers who want to sharpen their craft, collaborate with peers from around the world, and work closely with leading figures in contemporary music. All in one of the world’s most important capitals for new music!

For this edition, we are thrilled to welcome an extraordinary lineup of Artists & Ensembles in Residence:
Mivos Quartet, Quasars Ensemble, Judith Fliedl (Resident Violinist, Klangforum Wien), Duo Stump-Linshalm, Alfredo Ovalles, and saxophone virtuoso Joel Diegert.

Participants will also work closely with our Composition Faculty:
Adrián Artacho, Víctor Báez, and Daniel Oliver Moser.

And we are honored to host two outstanding Featured Guest Composer Faculty:
Dai Fujikura and Margareta Ferek-Petric.

Join us for two intense weeks of individual lessons, presentations, seminars, and concerts, alongside world-class ensembles and soloists right in the heart of Europe’s contemporary music scene.
