If you want to support our projects you can don

In addition to numerous activities in the area of education, skills training and rural development, a special focus is given to humanitarian aid actions. Humanitarian crises often destroy the basis for daily life in terms of human dignity. It is necessary to start with life saving activities before rehabilitation programmes stabilise the economic and social well-being, and a transition to developm

ent work can be made. Therefore, HOPE‘87 also implements projects in the following areas of intervention:
Emergency Aid, Relief and Rehabilitation: Support for victims of natural as well as man-made disasters
Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Preparedness: Integration of Disaster Risk Management aspects in the education system

How We Work

There are currently Country Offices in Africa (Burundi, Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal), Asia (Bangladesh and Pakistan), Latin America (Chile/Regional Co-ordination Office for Latin America, Brazil) and Eastern Europe (Republic of Moldova).

In November 2025, Youth & Women Collectives (YWCs) came together for a 5-day Leadership & Management Skills Training (LMST) under the BeST: Beyond Survival – Transforming the Power of Communities Project, funded by Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The training focused on strengthening leadership, management and practical skills that YWCs can use to take greater ownership and action in their communities.

A look back at a meaningful step in the journey towards stronger, community-led organizations.

A simple solution to a basic need.

Our In-Country Partner identified a vulnerable family struggling without reliable access to water and took action by supporting the installation of a water pump at their home.

For a family in need, access to clean water means more than convenience — it means dignity, safety and a better quality of life.

When communities identify needs and take action, change reaches where it matters most.

Learning looks different for every child. What matters is having the opportunity to learn.

At Special Education Centres, children with diverse needs receive the support, care and learning opportunities they need to develop their abilities and build confidence.

Through specialized education and a supportive learning environment, we are helping children take steps towards greater independence and a brighter future.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their potential.

Every child deserves a space to play, participate and shine.

A Sports Gala brought children from the Special Education Centre together for a day filled with teamwork, excitement and joyful competition.

Beyond the games, activities like these create opportunities for special children to build confidence, strengthen social connections and experience the simple joy of being part of a team.

Because inclusion means making sure every child gets a chance to take part.

Hope begins when a child feels seen, valued and supported.

Through meaningful activities, interaction and moments of joy, HOPE’87 continues to create safe and supportive spaces where children can learn, connect and simply be children.

These moments from Burundi remind us that sometimes, a little care and attention can help a child see a brighter tomorrow.

Every child deserves to feel seen. Every child deserves hope.

Healthy habits start with awareness.

A Health & Hygiene session brought children and community members together to learn, express themselves, and share important messages about hygiene through creative activities.

As part of broader WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) activities, these sessions help turn awareness into everyday practices—because access to water and sanitation is only part of the solution. Knowledge, healthy habits and community ownership matter too.

Small lessons today can build healthier communities tomorrow.

One donation. A lifeline for someone who needs it.

An ICP of HOPE’87 organized a blood donation camp in Charsadda to support thalassemia patients facing a critical shortage of blood.

By bringing people together to donate, the Youth Collective turned community concern into life-saving action.

Because when communities come together, every drop can make a difference.

Sometimes, a small opportunity can change a family’s future.

HOPE'87's ICP identified a family struggling to make ends meet, where the husband’s disability had made it difficult for the family to earn a stable income. The Collective stepped forward and helped the woman start a small business, creating an opportunity for her to support her family with dignity and greater independence.

From support to self-reliance — this is community-led change in action.

When communities take the lead, solutions become possible.

A Youth Collective identified a critical water shortage in their area, reached out to another organization for support, and together helped install a water hand pump for a community that had no nearby source of water.

No project funds were used — just initiative, collaboration and a commitment to solving a local need.

This is community-led change in action.

For a child with hearing impairment, the right support can make a meaningful difference in how they learn, communicate and connect with the world around them.
